บท 212: Beauty of God*

There was this one time when Rui Ye was so absorbed in talking to himself that he didn't notice Mother Rui's return. She stood in the doorway for a while, her countenance turning more and more gloomy with each passing second, and she finally couldn't help but interject when Rui Ye began to talk about his nightmares. 

The corner of her eye twitched, and her lips stretched into a smile that wasn't quite a smile, giving her an almost neurotic appearance. "Who are you talking to, Rui Ye?" she asked softly. Were it not for her expression, her tone could almost be considered affectionate. 

Uh-oh, the seraphim exclaimed silently. This doesn't look good.

Rui Ye visibly jumped like a cat whose tail was being stepped on. Gasping, he turned to the direction of her voice, his hand clutching his furiously pounding chest. "M–Mother…?" he stammered in panic. "Y–You… you've returned? Since when?"
