"Do you want to know what's on my mind right now?" he inquired, and when Rui Ye gave a timid nod, he continued, laughter lacing his tone. "I'm thinking how convenient it would be if you got sick again. I don't need to go through all the trouble to nurse you back to health. Just give you a little blood and voilà, you will be as good as new in no time at all. I'm big, so losing a little blood will be no problem."

Rui Ye's lips parted without a word, surprise evident in his face. He clearly hadn't seen this answer coming at all.
