I took a look at my status window and smiled. I played with the idea of copying all of Punisher's skills when I see him next. It would be fun to know what he feels when he's shooting guns at monsters. However, that thought would have to wait for now. I had more pressing things to take care of, one of which was the notification that just popped up.

Notification

Congratulations! You are at the top of the leaderboard! Your location is being revealed and is accessible to players on their system maps. Your location will be accessible for one hour.

I looked over at the remaining Thornheart Stalkers and decided that it would take too much time to clear the rest of the farm. There is no telling how many of these monsters will show up later, either. I believe that the doctor would probably have a consistent supply going for the Alorae to take advantage of. My priority right now was to be a distraction so that Punisher could take care of the mountain mines.

This Thornheart farm was about 15 minutes away from the Alorae camp, if running at full speed at 35 to 40 agility. This meant I had a few minutes before those Alorae were able to make it to me, but that wouldn't stop all the other Alorae in the area from coming to me. There would always be surprises no matter where I went, but at least I knew when my location was made public.

I checked my compass to determine where North was and proceeded to run in that direction. I could somewhat gauge where I was in relation to the mountain mines, which meant that there was an advantageous position where I could defend myself to the north. I didn't know who might be coming after me this time, but if it was anyone like Gillian, I would have my hands full.

Mages were always a tricky fight for me in the past. I'm sure that it would be the same in this life as well, and for one reason. Mages were like glass cannons. Mages had spells with lower cooldowns than player skills, so they could use their abilities more quickly in a fight. The drawback was that they could only cast a certain number of spells. Spellcasters also had such a wide variety in their arsenal that it was hard to determine the outcome of a fight between mages.

I had already fought some mages when Punisher and I fought for our lives against Levon De'Olrath. Those mages were easy to fight against because they did not have their classes yet, so their spells were very limited. Gillion was someone I needed to worry about because he had tier-2 magic unlocked after having reached level 20.

I ran for a couple minutes until some players showed up. About 50 meters to the north of me, in the direction I was running, I sensed a group of players heading in my direction. I couldn't tell in the moment if they were friend or foe, so I immediately pulled out Versaga, my sword, and slid to a stop. The players who I sensed were continuing to head in my direction, and I felt the presence of three auras. Judging by the movement of their aura, the players coming towards me were more than likely to be hostile.

"Hey Tim, get ready. We're about to see some action."

Tim jumped off my wrist and landed on the ground, already transformed into a wooden stump. "Hey Ronan, check out what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna do something fucking funny."

Tim remained motionless and silent as I stepped back. I kind of wanted to see what he was going to do, so I decided to let him have his fun. The three auras reached our location and landed just a few meters away from Tim. They were all Alorae soldiers that must have been hunting in the area. From the looks of their auras, they were all between levels 8 and 10, so none of them were dangerous to me.

The soldier with the strongest aura among the three stood forward. "Surrender now, Ronan Wilde. There are many more of us in this area of the forest already conver–!"

"Shut the fuck up!" Tim shouted.

Without warning, Tim transformed into a giant treasure chest and bit into the soldier, removing the top half of his torso from his body. Blood splattered everywhere, coating the two remaining soldiers in red. They both screamed as Tim loomed over them.

Tim's face appeared on the back of the chest as two wooden spikes jutted out of him, impaling the two remaining soldiers. "Okay, I had something else planned; they were a bit too far back. I'll save it for the next ones."

I nodded. "I look forward to it. For now, let's get back to our run."

Tim shrunk back into a watch and hopped back onto my wrist. "Where were you headed?"

"The second most dangerous place in the Verdant Abyss." In the distance, a geyser of water shot up 30 meters into the air. "The death geysers."

"Why are they called the death geysers?"

"Well, that's because these geyers spew out hot water that's so concentrated it can cut off limbs with ease. In this area, there are hundreds of geysers that go off at irregular intervals."

Tim looked concerned. "Wouldn't that be a problem for you?"

I shook my head. "I know where all the safe zones are in the area."

"Of course you do... Everyone's going to think you're a cheater."

I laughed. "I practically am."
