The worst dream I've ever had plays out behind my eyes, and there's nothing I can do but watch it happen and play my role. That's how dreams are.
I'm back in the club with all the worst secrets that I've ever been exposed to circling around like demons in the air, dipping between bodies, looking for victims. The dancing, the fun, the laughter and smiles, it's all a facade for what's really going on, and I'm the only one who can see past it. Worse than that, there's nothing that I do to intervene in the plots that are lying in wait, hoping for victims. Instead, I'm feeding them. I'm smiling back, pretending to not see the truth, passing across another elaborate drink, another useless friendly interaction that does nothing to prevent the evil that's unfolding. And it's unfolding everywhere.
