บท 4: Three Methods Of Obtaining Dev Points, Booking A Date

Weiss knew that although he could only create single-purpose games for now, it would still be enough to suit his needs in the first to the second week of transmigrating into this soon-to-be destroyed world.

He still had two months' worth of preparation before this world would be invaded by enemies from another world. He didn't know what was so great about this world for it to be invaded by otherworlders but he did know that he was too weak to know about that.

While Weiss was in the Game Workshop, he didn't create the game world first but decided to summon the system menu and check the Game Item Shop.

However, when he checked the Game Item Shop, there weren't any game items for sale and it was empty.

Weiss wasn't too surprised since the Game Item Shop's products depended on game items that existed in his games.

One of the reasons why he wasn't too worried about the players surpassing him in strength was that he could have a monopoly over the game items. As long as he had enough Dev points, he would be able to have more game items than most players.

Speaking of Dev points, Weiss asked, "Alice, how do I get Dev points?"

[There are three methods to earn Dev points.]

[First, you can get 1 Dev point for a new player playing your game. However, it must only be a new player so even if that player played again, you won't receive any Dev points. For example, if there are 100 new players and 20 old players in a day, you will get 100 Dev points.]

[Second, you can get 1 Dev point daily for active players. Active players are those who play your game for at least 1 minute a day regardless if they are new players or old players. For example, if there are 100 new players and 20 old players in a day, you will get 120 Dev points.]

[Third, you can get an unspecified amount of Dev points if a player completes your game. The amount of Dev points earned depended on the difficulty of the game rated by the system. For example, if an E-rated difficulty game which is worth 200 Dev points, was completed by players 5 times, you will get 1000 Dev points. This is only an example as rated difficulties vary from the types and genres of games. It's dependent on the system's evaluation so two games with the same rated difficulty might have varying rewards.]

[In the third method, you can earn those Dev points regardless if players who completed the game already, completed it again.]

[With these three methods of earning Dev points, it's impossible for a player to surpass you in strength as well as game items acquired. And the more players are invested in your game, the more you can get Dev points. So don't limit the game items that the players can obtain in your game but also don't make it easily obtainable.]

[And to inform you, I don't have any control over the system itself. I am only the system's spirit and the God-Level Game Developer System has its own set of rules and programs. So if you make the games too easy, even I can't help you if you want to let the players obtain game items.]

[The game rating difficulty is also based on the system's evaluation and not my own. I also can't help you with that, sorry.]

Hearing Alice's apology, Weiss consoled, "You don't have to apologize. I already expected this anyway and I'm already satisfied with the way it is. Alice, if you have control over the system, then obtaining Dev points will have no meaning since you can just give me an unlimited amount of it."

"I was bored in my past life so I don't want to make this second life of mine boring. And from those three methods alone, it's easy to earn Dev points. I only need to develop a game for now."

When Alice listened to Weiss consoling her, her mood lightened up and she motivated him.

[If you can reach 1 Million Dev points, the system can allow me to descend into the real world in human form. Of course, you don't have to spend that 1 Million Dev points but just need to reach it. It's not accumulative so you need to have unspent 1 Million Dev points.]

Hearing Alice's motivation, Weiss' eyes lit up, "Is your human form just a hologram or the real fleshy body?"

[The fleshy body, not just a mere hologram.]

"How beautiful?"

[Slightly more beautiful than your sister.]

"Damn! So it's on par with my charm then. Okay, I'll aim to reach 1 Million Dev points!"

Weiss was immediately motivated to reach 1 Million Dev points.

After all, he knew how beautiful his sister was. In terms of charm attributes, she was only a few points lower than him. It wasn't exaggerated to say that his sister was a genderbent version of himself.

Knowing that Alice wouldn't lie to him since it would be exposed when he reached 1 Million Dev points, Weiss looked forward to Alice's human form.

Weiss didn't care much about becoming the strongest. He wasn't power hungry and he wasn't desperate to become stronger.

However, his past life had bored him to death so he wanted to experience this second life of his to the fullest.

"Alice, promise me that you will go on a date with me after you obtain your human form."

It was rare for Weiss to ask someone on a date since no one had ever caught his attention. However, it wasn't because he was gay but due to the lack of beautiful females that caught his attention.

So after Alice mentioned that her charm was slightly higher than his sister's, Weiss' interest was piqued.

Despite being very handsome, Weiss hasn't dated any girl yet. He wanted to try what it feels like to date a beautiful girl and if possible, fall in love with her.

[Sure, I promise you! After I obtain my human form, let's go on a date!]

บท 5: Weiss Said, "Let There Be Light!"

After receiving Alice's promise, Weiss was motivated to reach 1 million Dev points!

At least, his goal of earning more Dev points to become stronger wasn't as boring as it was before.

With a goal in mind, Weiss decided to focus on creating the game world in the Game Workshop.

In the Game Workshop, what Weiss could see was nothing but darkness. However, he seemed able to perceive the boundless nothingness in this dark realm despite the lack of light. It was as if the Game Workshop was nothing but an extension of his body which he could freely manipulate.

For starters, Weiss didn't want the Game Workshop to be this dark so he dramatically snapped his fingers and spoke, "Weiss said, let there be light!"

As if he was the almighty creator in the Game Workshop, Weiss' words came true as a huge ball of light appeared which seemed to resemble the sun.

It was indeed the sun. After all, Weiss planned to create a game world and he wanted it to be the same as Blue Star but with some modifications depending on the game plot he had in mind.

After Weiss created the sun, he started to create the universe as well as the galaxy. But other than serving for background purposes, the universe and galaxy in the game world didn't have any other usages.

With the creation of the universe and the galaxy, Weiss created the Blue Star. But instead of creating several continents, he only created one supercontinent.

Teleporting himself towards Blue Star, specifically on the barren supercontinent, Weiss step foot on it. When his feet came into contact with the supercontinent, the barren wasteland was suddenly injected with vitality, causing green grasses to appear and tall trees to sprout.

Countless flora adorned the previously barren supercontinent.

Looking at his masterpiece, Weiss muttered, "I have to admit, using the Game Workshop is like playing a realistic sandbox game. For a second there, I was so immersed that I feel like I am God."

While Weiss was immersed in the feeling of being almighty, Alice's sweet voice reassured him.

[That's not a bad thing, Weiss.]

[After all, there are existences more terrifying than a god invading Blue Star in the future. I don't doubt that you can become a god after the two-month time limit ends.]

[Existences with the power of a god will inevitably invade Blue Star in the future. So let alone you, the natives of Blue Star must also become a god if they want to defeat those foreign gods.]

[If you can successfully protect this world and reach the "Ultimate End", you have already become an existence above a god at that time.]

Despite hearing Alice elaborate on how dangerous the threats he would face in the future, Weiss wasn't that worried. That didn't dissuade him from protecting Blue Star and instead, it fueled his motivation to create games and increase the overall power of Blue Star.

Weiss didn't have any noble cause for protecting Blue Star or humanity. For him, protecting Blue Star was just for the sake of his convenience. After all, it would be troublesome if his home was destroyed.

He also wanted to entertain himself with the process of protecting Blue Star from those foreign invaders.

In other words, Weiss treated this as nothing but a game set for him by the higher existence who transmigrated him into this world and gave him a second life and a powerful system.

Weiss noticed the clue left by Alice in her words so he couldn't help but ask, "What's the Ultimate End? If I reach the Ultimate End, what will happen?"

"After all, you said that if I successfully protect this world, I can obtain ownership of this world as well as an opportunity to step into the realms of the higher existences. What's the difference between that and reaching the Ultimate End?"

Hearing Weiss' question, Alice replied.

[It would be boring if I revealed that secret at the start, right?]

[And even if I want to tell you, I can't. Not because I am not allowed to, but because my memory regarding the Ultimate End was sealed by a higher existence.]

[I only know that the Ultimate End exists, but as for how to reach it, I have no idea. Maybe when the system gets updated several times, that memory of mine regarding the Ultimate End might be unsealed.]

When Weiss heard Alice's reply, he wasn't surprised. It could be said that he already expected such a reply.

"It would indeed be boring if I received such a huge spoiler at the start. So let's take things one step at a time."

Assuring Alice that he didn't mind, Weiss continued working on the creation of the Game World.

After developing the flora in the supercontinent, Weiss used 5% of the supercontinent's land to create a large city.

A large city appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the supercontinent and it was no different from the modern cities on Earth, albeit bigger.

"Since this city will be infested with zombies in the future and there are only 1000 players per server, it's technically impossible to escape from the city alive."

"I have planned for 1000 players to appear in this city with a population of 100 million human NPCs. Rather than calling it a city, it's more like a huge ass country or city-state."

"However, if there is a player who managed to reach the end of the city and escape outside the city, I can also add a special achievement for those players who managed to do that."

"So, the limit of the game world is the end of the supercontinent. It's impossible to leave the supercontinent and venture into the ocean since the game rules won't allow it. I have already created an invisible barrier that prevents players from leaving the supercontinent."

"With the creation of the Game World completed, the next thing to add is NPCs as well as the rules and objectives of the game."
