After several minutes the mist dissipates. No one appears, I shake my head and continue into the forest. Yet even though I can't hear or see anything out of place, I still get this nagging feeling that someone is following me.
With the crunch of leaves beneath my feet, I continue to look for the creatures I have to kill. I stop and hear something take one more step after I stop. I turn to look. Nothing. 'Who could be following me? Why would they?
'Could some players have somehow gathered enough money to hire assassins? Well if it is an assassin it would explain why I can't shake this feeling of being followed.
'Well after the next fight I'll feign being exhausted. They couldn't have gathered that much Intel on me.' But the problem is I'm not seeing anything.
As night falls, I decide to make camp. Usually when I've gone camping I could hear the sounds of crickets, frogs, birds, and other creatures. Yet even though I'm in another world, I don't hear a thing stirring in this forest.
The only reason why I wouldn't hear a thing is that they are all scared of something or are being forced away. I can't rule out that someone could be using the silence spell.
I look up and see an owl. Yet as it opens Its moth I don't even hear a screech. I light the fire and the sounds of the crackling wood isn't there. Shaking my head, 'There is obviously someone here. Do they take me for a fool?
'Doesn't matter if they do. But how do I draw them out. I can't just use any fight now. So even if I do come across something to kill, it wouldn't be believable that I'm tired after it.
'This person must be doing something to draw the creatures away from my location. Perhaps I should hear back to the city. As long as I'm being followed I can't do what I need to.
'Perhaps one of the guards could help me. Why would the guards know the location of the assassins hideout. But it'sthe best least I've got.'
Sighing I log out of the game. Agnignis's message all looks back at me. 'It couldn't be that person following me could it? I do suspect they have regressed. But why would they be in Blornage.
'I don't have much information about that person. And if they have regressed, then no one else would either. Maybe I should contact them just to see what they have to say,' I take a deep breath and go to the lab.
Since I don't know how to do much with mana as I'll call it, then I might as well focus on that mineral I don't know much about. I take a portion of it out of the vacuum chamber. The portion instantly starts to absorb something. I examine it under the microscope. Yet even though it is obviously absorbing something, I don't see any chemicals moving towards it.
'What if there is mana on this planet. But we just don't have the technology to detect it. I need to figure out how to utilize mana in the game. Then I can properly learn how to detect it,' with that I put the portion back into the vacuum chamber.
I head back into the game. As I receive that influx of information, I feel a javelin go through my leg. I sigh, and pull it out. As I turn around the wound heals up. I go in the direction the spear traveled.
You would think one would find someone or something from the location that the spear came from. Yet there was no one there. I stomp as I bring out the swords and release the blood from within them.
Gnashing my teeth I create a blood storm and have it spiral out away from me. Without it hitting anything I feel wind and dodge to the side. I bring the storm back and send it to the left of where the javelin came from. While I send a volley of feathers to the right. I sprint straight to the spot of origin.
Yet nothing once again. Whoever this is, is doing their best to keep me from locating them. They seem to be moving. But yet they are able to escape my detection. I bring back the blood storm and feathers, 'What if they are traveling through the shadows. Dark vision never said I could see someone using the shadows for travel. As that isn't under the same classification.
'I don't know the geography of this area. But I need to find an open field with now shadows. Otherwise I won't be able to get this person. Once I do catch them. I will find my way to the assassin's hideout. I'll let this guy be their lesson,' I smile viciously. I hear a sharp exhale and walk through the forest.
I check the map and make sure that I am leaving the forest. After several hours I finally see the plains. I fly into the air and make haste to where one can't see a single tree or bush in sight. 'Even though this is a good start, the shadows from the grass might be enough.'
I release the blood from the swords and cut all the grass I can. I then pile it all into one location. One less shadow that they can travel through to get to me. I let the blood down and have it spread as far as I can in a net formation around me. I then have it seep into the ground so it isn't noticeable.
'What if I create some shadows he can use and place feathers there as a trap. Especially if I turn my back,' grinning, I start to make separate piles of grass and hide feathers within them.
After a while there are several piles of grass casting shadows. I set up camp and start to cook a meal. I sit there waiting for the prey to fall into the trap.
