บท 23: Showing Levels
Third Person PoV
"A Familiar of the 4th Primogenitor?"
Gardos said, looking at the giant silver crayfish above the subfloat.
"Grigore, keep the 4th busy. I am coming with Maleka." The Lion Therianthrope said into his walkie-talkie.
"Understood, Major." The voice from the receiver spoke.
Gardos looked at the three girls glaring at him and with a laugh and moved towards the back of the ship.
Asagi, seeing Gardos going away, removed the barrier around the girls and gave a sigh of relief.
"Aiba-senpai, Gardos is going to attack Akatsuki-senpai, stop him!" The sword shaman said.
"Calm down, Yukina-chan. Kojou was stronger than him even before, do you think he would lose after awakening another familiar?"
"Is that a new familiar? Asagi-chan. It is a huge Crayfish!" Nagisa said with excitement in her voice.
"It is Nagisa-chan."
The two therianthropes, in true shonen fashion, were waiting for the girls to finish their talk before attacking.
But by then the rest of the Nalakuvera were gone on the island and the mist had just touched the cruise ship.
The therianthropes jumped below and moved towards the girls but with the appearance of a purple magic circle beneath their feet, were dumped into the ocean.
Minamiya Natsuki stood in place of the therianthropes, looking smug with a smirk on her face.
"Thanks to that idiot's familiar's power reaching here, the barrier surrounding the boat was ripped apart and I was able to come here. But it seems my help was not needed here."
"Minamiya-sensei! You are here!" Nagisa said excitedly.
"Natsuki-sensei, take Nagisa somewhere safe. I am going to Kojou, I need to tell him something." Asagi said.
"And why about you Himeragi Yukina?"
"I will also go with Aiba-senpai, I am Akatsuki-senpai's observer afterall!" The observer said with a smile on her face.
"You sure are dedicated to your job."
The witch said looking at the mist covered subfloat and the crayfish overlooking it.
…
"That was way too reckless, what if the subfloat sinks faster because of this massive crater?" Sayaka said, looking at the crater through which they had come out.
She was now properly clothed, alongwith Kojou's hoodie.
"It wouldn't, now that I have this familiar." Kojou said, looking smug.
"What, that thing can defeat the Nalakuvera without sinking the subfloat?"
"No, it would allow me to fight without the fear of sinking the subfloat or island. Also, now that I see, there are multiple of these stupidly overpowered crabs?"
"Seems like Gardos was smart enough to know that one of these is not enough to beat a Primogenitor. But still, how will it help us?" Sayaka questioned Kojou.
"You see, Natra-Cinereus, makes everything it wishes or more correctly, I wish into ethereal mist, as things that are ethereal can't be hit, I can fight seriously and the attacks would phase through the subfloat!"
Sayaka, hearing Kojou speak in excitement, asked.
"So you are strong enough to defeat all these Nalakuvera, wasn't your other familiar struggling to destroy it?"
"No, Kirasaka, my familiar was not struggling, it was holding back, as I was asked not to sink the subfloat. Regulus-Aurum is my most destructive familiar, there isn't anything it can't destroy."
The other Nalakuvera moved towards the two, and fired its beam.
"Look closely, Kirasaka, how the 4th Primogenitor fights when he is serious."
Kojou put his one hand in the path if the beam and fired a yellow lighting beam of his own.
Sayaka, who was ready to swing her Koukarin to save Kojou, was blown away by the result of the clash.
The red beam was overpowered by the yellow beam instantly. The beam continued and hit the mechanical crab, who was rendered toast by it.
The beam drilled holes in the buildings behind the crab. But the buildings were fine, it seems the familiar was doing its job correctly.
"Come, Regulus-Aurum!"
The huge lion roared, lightning crackling from his mane and landing on the Nalakuvera, rendering them charred and paralyzed.
Just then multiple disc's came and hit Natra-Cinereus and caused a blast. The familiar was not harmed in the least, but that succeeded in getting Kojou's attention.
There stood a Nalakuvera, different from the others. It was bigger and had separate weapons mounted on its body.
There were two gatling guns on its side which were ready to fire on the crayfish. But the bullets passed it harmlessly, it had made itself ethereal.
More disc's were fired but they also passed the familiar harmlessly, but that was not good. The disc's went into the gigafloat near the subfloat and caused a huge blast.
Kojou glared at the newly made pain in his ass machine and uttered his thoughts.
"A hive structure? Is that supposed to be a queen?"
"Well done Kojou, you are correct. That is the queen, it gives out orders the unmanned drones follow."
"Vatler, if you don't stop your annoying commentary right now, I will punch you in the face." Kojou said seriously.
"You've gone and done it, Gardos. Want me to handle this mess for you Kojou?"
"You really want me to punch you, don't you?" Kojou said snarling.
Vatler only laughed at that, but didn't say anything and backed down. Three Nalakuvera fired their death beams at Kojou.
But he didn't do anything, instead he turned around and opened his arms and Asagi jumped into his arms.
Kojou lifted her and kissed her, the kiss was full of passion and love, Sayaka was looking at them intently.
While Yukina was stopping the beams. She was muttering something about a dramatic couple.
The beams were stopped by the Sekkarou, which was given back to Yukina by Natsuki-chan. As Kojou had left it behind at the school.
"So you have acquired a new familiar?" Yukina said with a cold voice.
"Yes. Why do you ask though?" Kojou returned her question with his own.
"Ah! It was an unforeseen accident!"
Sayaka said but the look Yukina gave her when she saw her wearing Kojou's hoodie stopped any more of Sayaka's excuses.
Sayaka saw Yukina's eyes and looked away, she could not look her Yukina-chan in the eyes just after she had an intimate moment with her senpai.
"We can talk about that later!" Yukina said focusing more on the terrorism ongoing.
Just then beams were fired by multiple Nalakuvera's from different sides.
But with the combined might of both Sayaka and Yukina they were blocked. But Kojou was feeling a bit different in this moment.
"Is this the famous girl sandwich which I am experiencing right now?"
Asagi only looked at him with eyes filled with the emotion one feels when a wrong joke is said in a wrong situation.
"Kojou, Gardos is inside the commander unit. Here take this!"
Asagi gave her mobile phone into Kojou's hand.
"And what am I supposed to do with this?"
"This is a virus that I made and integrated into the control commands of the Nalakuvera, but it only takes voice commands from the commander unit so you have to somehow get this inside the commander unit."
"Oh that is easy." Kojou said, looking at the phone in his hands, but didn't move.
And then he called out his familiars. Only three of them. He didn't want to show of all of his cards to Vatler, he wanted to keep Alrescha-Glacies a secret for now.
"Come, Mesarthim-Adamas, Regulus-Aurum, Natra-Cinereus!"
The three familiars manifested and began their job. The subfloat became ethereal again.
Regulus-Aurum was fighting like a lion, jumping on its opponents and ripping their body using its thunderous fangs.
Mesarthim-Adamas was mauling the crabs with its physical strength. The veritable army of the ancient weapons was being toyed around with.
"Kirasaka, do you have a special attack? Himeragi has one where she speaks a long ass chant and then stabs things."
"It is not that long!" Yukina protested, but was promptly ignored.
"I do, and why are you asking like that, I am not a pokemon!" Sayaka said so but still started her attack.
Koukarin transformed into a large bow, its wide blade spilting into two and being connected through the handle.
"One of the six demon conquering bows, Der Freischütz! This is the true form of Koukarin!"
"That's the spirit, you two stay here with Sayaka, I will go and end this."
"How will you put this inside the commander unit?" Yukina asked.
"I will." Kojou said and began running, calling back his familiars and letting Sayaka shine for today.
Sayaka took out a little pin, starped on to her thigh and poured magic into it, making a blue arrow.
"I, War Dancer of the High God, as a dancer of the Lion, beseech thee... Enku of the Aurora, Qilin of the radiant night, thou who doth rule thunder and the heavens come clad in raging fire to pierce Hell's monstrous demons!"
And released the arrow into the sky. The arrow went high and made a large magic circle in the sky.
And a rain of blue arrows started falling on the subfloat. The blue arrow jammed the functions of all the Nalakuvera, except the queen.
But that was enough for Kojou, he formed a diamond platform below his legs and kicked it.
Almost teleporting near Maleka. Surprising everyone present except Asagi.
"He can move that fast?"
"I didn't know senpai was that fast?"
Both Sayaka and Yukina had the same question.
"Of course he is, he held back because I asked him to." Asagi said.
…
"They jammed the functions of the Nalakuvera? No matter what, I will end this personally. This is war, 4th Primogenitor!"
Kojou dodged the claw that attempted to pierce him, shifted the mobile from his right to left hand and punched Maleka.
The large machine was thrown back, Kojou jumped on top of it and pierced the armour of the Maleka.
Kojou, using his electric powers, had created a shape bolt of lightning, helping him in this endeavour.
He ripped open the hatch and chucked Gardos out and threw the phone on the seat of Maleka.
And jumped back. A weird static noise emitted from the phone and the Nalakuvera's went down.
Gardos was too shocked to say or do anything. He was on his knees looking at the ground, trying to think what went wrong?
But Kojou wasn't buying that. But he left Gardos for now, he has an annoying face to punch really hard.
He found Vatler standing on top of a container that had still survived and was looking at him with his creepy smile.
Kojou made his way there, jumping continuously. And stood aside Vatler, and said with a serene tone.
"It's a nice sunset, isn't it, Vatler?"
"Yes, Kojou."
"Wanna see it up close, on your ship?"
"Hmm, why not?"
"So you consent?"
"To what?"
"This."
Kojou punched Vatler, the punch channelled a large amount of his strength and sent Vatler flying towards his grave, aka the Oceanus Grave.
"Don't get me involved in shit like that!" Kojou yelled, loud enough to be heard by Vatler and then went towards the girls.
"All done and dusted!" Kojou said reaching near the impromptu anti terrorist group.
"What about Gardos? Akatsuki Kojou." Sayaka asked.
"What Gardos? Who is Gardos?"
"He is there, right there." Sayaka said pointing at the position.
"What are you saying, there is only a diamond statue there."
Kojou said, taking Asagi's hand and moving towards Nagisa who was with Natsuki-chan. Both Sayaka and Yukina were looking horrified at the prospect that Kojou had made a statue of a living man.
"Senpai, did you just kill a man?"
"Kill? No I didn't, if he dies of suffocation that is not my fault. I simply made sure that he can't run away before the island guard gets to him. If they are late or fail to get him out, then it's their problem not mine."
"But you put him in there!" Sayaka said loudly.
"I was trying to help the island guard. And he deserves to die anyway. If you are going to lecture me, then don't. He did something and didn't expect the consequences. You shouldn't be that surprised, you are attack mages, I am sure you know what happens to the terrorists caught for interrogation, if he dies, he may as well be grateful towards me for sparing his dignity."
Kojou said and kept moving forward. Not looking back at either of them.

Kojou and Asagi took Nagisa who was staying with Natsuki-chan just beyond the subfloat and went back home.
Just as she entered her home, Nagisa him hugged tightly. This was a very stressful event for her.
And her past with demons wasn't helping it. Kojou lifted her up and took her to his room.
"I will take a shower and join you two."
Asagi said and went into her room. Kojou put Nagisa on the bed and whispered into her ear.
"Do you want something, Nagisa?"
"Yes, Kojou-kun, make love to me, take my mind away from this stuff."
"Sure!"
