บท 39: Fundamentals of the Spiritual Path

Outside the Beast Mountain Range, a group of people flew with unpleasant expressions, deciding not to stay in the mountain range any longer after feeling close to death.

The people from the Southern Medicinal Mountain, after the encounter with Li Yuemei, gave up their goal of searching for spiritual herbs.

So, as they left the mountain range, the black-masked men stopped following them.

"We've completed our task; we're heading back to the branch. Goodbye," one of the black-clad men said shortly after leaving the mountain range.

They were part of one of the Su family's businesses, trained since childhood to serve the family as guardians and also for one of the family's businesses.

They could be hired as guards by anyone with enough money to pay; they had no competition anywhere on the planet because their services were always the best.

"Hmm." The old man in yellow just nodded in agreement, and the black-clad men soon flew away.

The yellow-clad men were not happy with this mission, returning to the mountain with unhappy faces, especially the young man among them.

"Tsk, damn it, my rings..." the young man still fumed about his stolen rings, which contained almost all of his essential belongings.

"AAAHH, damn it!"

"Who was that damn ice guy? Where did he come from?"

"Oh, I remember; you told us to leave because of him. So, you already knew the boy from somewhere. Come on, tell us where that bastard came from!" The young man was extremely irritated by the old man beside him.

"Young master, I don't know him exactly, but I've seen him, as probably everyone here has, except for you. In fact, the face of that boy is practically all over the continent."

"As you returned from the central continent now and came straight to the mountain, you might not have seen it, but the boy is being sought by the Southern Sacred Land." The old man said this, handing a poster to the young man.

"I just didn't expect that the boy in the poster would be so terrifying. Well, if even the Southern Sacred Land couldn't do anything against him yet, it makes sense that he's so strong." The old man pondered for himself.

The young man looked at the poster and saw the reward was only for information.

"So, he's a wanted criminal for one of the top ten forces. Haha, he's already dead, no matter what he does. Even if the Southern Sacred Land is only eighth in the rank of forces, I don't believe they won't be able to kill that brat." He said it excitedly.

He then remembered that Li Yuemei was with him and asked the old man.

"If he's wanted by the Southern Sacred Land, why is Li Yuemei with him?"

"Young master, there are rumors that she was kidnapped by him. This was slowly spreading among the major forces on the southern continent. The Southern Sacred Land certainly didn't want it to leak because of its prestige, and therefore, most forces on the southern continent didn't believe it."

"But it seems to be true," the old man concluded.

"Understood, haha, I've decided, let's go!"

"Where, young master?"

"Tsk, where else? Obviously, to the Southern Sacred Land. We have information about Li Yuemei's whereabouts, and we'll gain much more from that than we would from searching for herbs." The young man said it with a strange smile, as if he had several ideas about what to do now.

**************

On a night in the Beast Mountain Range, at the entrance of the great cave, Li Yuemei was sitting while some beast corpses lay on the ground, their bodies already dry without a drop of blood.

Li Yuemei's physique used the blood of beasts and lunar energy to cultivate, thus generating the corrupted lunar Qi that ran throughout her blood and dantian.

The young man next to Yuemei watched her cultivate attentively.

Many days had passed since the awakening of Li Yuemei's physique. While they were in the cave, she taught him the rest that he didn't understand, and now he could read all the books, even the most complicated and complex ones.

Now he was watching her cultivate. She had said that each possessor of a special physique has a specific way of cultivating it, and he thought that by observing her, he might get an idea of her way.

Besides, he also felt comfortable looking at her. After the awakening of her physique, that feeling of something calling to him was stronger, but he still had no idea what it was.

Li Yuemei gave him numerous books as a gift to understand more about the world and cultivators, and now he spends his days reading all of them. He could already be considered someone who understood a lot about the world.

Wanting to understand more about cultivation and his strengths, he decided to read about cultivation.

When his mother taught his sister to cultivate, she would only send information about the cultivation method to her daughter's mind by touching her forehead and explaining it telepathically.

He thought he could learn to read with this method, but Li Yuemei said it would be impossible. Only cultivation techniques or fighting techniques that use their own language and understanding of something can be passed mentally to others, and only those who fully understand it can do so.

After watching Li Yuemei for a while, he entered the cave and sat in one corner. In this place, there was a mountain of books; he had already read almost all of them, which were just simple books with almost useless information that even common mortals would probably know.

But for him, all the information was interesting because he really didn't understand much about the world and its customs. All he knew was what his mother taught his sister, and that wasn't much. After the two left, despite meeting other people, almost no additional important information was obtained.

Now, with so much to learn, he felt the same feeling as when he woke up for the first time in the frozen mountain: curiosity.

After reading these books with nothing too important, only a few books were left. But all of them contained the main information he wanted to know, and he had left them for when he was already able to fully understand everything.

So he picked up one of the last books and sat down, focused as he read the title of the book.
