Chi Cheng sighed heavily as he witnessed the brutality of his old self. He berated himself for being a man who was so hard-willed and iron-hearted; now it had begun to make sense why Yu Yusheng would have brewed hate in his heart for him.

"I was foolish," Chi Cheng scolded himself, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I should have been kinder to them."

"You were a man who showed his affection through actions," Feng Renxing commented, placing a hand on his son's shoulder. "I'm sure your sons knew that all too well."

Chi Cheng smiled faintly at his father's attempts to comfort him, but he knew he still harboured regrets about the manners in which he conducted himself.
