"Father did what?" Chi Cheng burst into a fit of laughter, listening to his son summarise the events of how he came to possess Huo Renyi's body. "The poor lad Huo Renyi."

Chi Cheng was still perplexed on which way he should confront his father about the revelation of his memories. There was the intrusion of uncertainty in his heart, conflicted between whether he possessed any right to call Feng Renxing his father or whether he would be treated differently now that the truth had come to light.

He considered consulting his son for advice about the affair, but instead, he decided to distract his distraught mind by listening to his son's tale.

'Father must have known that sending me here would help me regain those memories,' Chi Cheng deduced. 'Which means he wanted me to find out…did he grow tired of maintaining the facade of me pretending to be his son?'
