บท 21: Fake identity, personal growth?
"You mean I have to protect this 'Iron Man'? He sounds powerful though."
I came up with something to distract her from my inner turmoil. My tongue had glued itself to the top of my mouth. I have to protect Iron Man from something extremely dangerous and I don't know what time it is within the Marvel universe or if it's the same Marvel universe from the movies.
"He normally would be but it seems that the timeline is in somewhat of a flux state. Events that shouldn't have occurred are occurring, people who shouldn't have revealed themselves have started to reveal themselves, thus the importance of the mission."
I widened my eyes as I continued to listen my mind spinning for all the possibilities of the timeline changing what it could mean for her continued existence within the universe. She could easily be under threat from Thanos and any number of bad guys and she doesn't have a the foggiest idea what the current timeline held.
'I need to start taking this seriously! There is no time to dilly dally.'
[Your finally starting to understand your position. That is good.]
"Good, now that you have found your resolve here is your identity. Also, here is an image of Tony Stark."
She raised her left hand upwards, her palm facing upwards, as energy started to coalesce from her hands into a multicoloured light. This light soon formed the image of Tony Stark from the Marvel movies. I raised my eyes slightly in surprise as I noted that it is probably close to the Marvel movies I'd known.
"Could I ask for the date and time, I think I may need it to act as a normal person."
"Sure, it's the 28th of April 2010."
'Oh.'
"Oh? What's wrong?"
"Nothing just surprised that you didn't question why I asked."
"Yes, well whilst I may not trust you entirely, you haven't exactly done anything to earn my ire or dissuade me from allowing you answers."
"Makes sense."
I took the Identity that she had still in her right hand and started pouring over it. What I came across stunned me. My identity said I graduated Yale and that it was in Business Administration and Economic Science.
"You do know that I don't know anything about either of those things right?"
"Well, you'll manage. Where there is a will there is a way."
"Now you best be off, sooner the better."
With a wave of her hand before I could fully speak I fell into an orange portal, the wind whipping my hair upwards as a second later my feet plonked onto the hard cement of an alley. Looking up quickly I tried to see her one final time, but the portal was already gone.
'What a bitch...'
[You have bigger problems... That date is 3-4 days away from the Monaco Grand Prix.]
'Iron man 2? Shit, plus who know who else or what else might rear its head from nowhere.'
[Well, I suggest you try to apply for the job as his secretary.]
'No, i won't it's too difficult and would either require me to reveal my existence as an angel to more people or bullshit my way through... No, I prefer to just appear in front of him or wait for him like Nick Fury and tell him that something is going to happen at the Grand Prix, then safely watch him from a distance only reacting when he is in actual fatal danger.'
[I suppose, if that's how you want to go about it... Either way your going to most likely have to reveal your existence.]
'Yes but with my plan i can just make it seem like I'm a powerful 'human' not an outright angel. I don't think revealing my existence as an angel is a smart move if I'm perfectly honest.'
[You do have a point, it can draw a lot of attention from multiple different sources even if this was just the Marvel universe, let alone this amalgam of stories.]
'See, it's just better for me to do it my way.'
[Do whatever you wish I am here to support you.]
'Cool, well since that's the case, I want to create an anti-spying ward spell.'
[Make it innate? Or are there any limitations?]
'Give it a casting time, as small as you can give it without it costing over 2000 MP, make it so I have to speak the name of the spell when I first start the spell.'

'Good, now lets get started reading, I figure I have a day to read some books then I can go scare the living shit out of Tony.'
