บท 17: Mila's pov.
My eyes glowed as I moved to Edith, grabbing her from Lucien.
He protested immediately as I placed her on my naked body.
"She's my mate too..."
Lucien said sounding like his in pain.
I closed my eyes and released the energy than I strongly felt in my body.
And I watched a red mist enter Edith nostrils and she immediately coughed and sat up.
I hugged her relieved that she was awake and well.
I looked at my hands trying to summon the power but I couldn't feel it anymore.
"Mila?"
Said Edith smiling genuinely happy to be in my arms.
"How can you look at her like that ?
when I'm.....
Wait....What happened to my mate mark!
You little trash what kind of witchcraft is this?!!!!
Y-You can't, I was born with it!
Edith...s-she.....the mark is gone!
Stuff like this doesn't exist!"
Scream Lucian hopelessly as he slid down the wall.
I didn't care for his threatics and wanted us to leave this place.
Edith as if reading my mind teleported back to the resort.
"Are you okay Edith? You look like you are dying.
I've never seen you this pale before."
I said worried at my mate who looked like she was locked in a coffin for centuries.
We entered our room and I opened the duffel bag with blood and gave Edith.
The colour was returning to her face and I smiled happy about her recovery.
I carried Edith to the bed and let me tell you the Vampire strength is a gift.
I tucked her in and ran my hand through her platinum blonde waist length hair.
her red kind eyes that were full of love gazed at mine in appreciation.
"What an epic first date.
You really came through when your sexual stamina."
I teased winking at Edith and we both laughed.
"Thank you for walking away with the good memories of it."
Said Edith as she placed her hand in mine.
"Uhm...this is not the perfect time for this question but.
Can a Vampire have 50 mates?"
I asked worried and hurt at the possibility of sharing Edith with 50 people.
Edith looked at me like I had grown 10 heads.
"Oh my gosh...You actually believe that nonsense?
50!?!! Even two is impossible.
I'm blessed that the universe acknowledged my situation and made an exception for me,

Don't worry. I'll reject Lucien, he was never your competition.
If the royal family kick my family from its protection, I don't care!

Said Edith looking into my eyes as she spoke.
A smirk made it's way to my lips. I like how things always find a way of working out.
Edith had no idea the amount of confidence she just gave me, by reassuring me.
I was afraid to bring it up but it looks like the stars are aligned for me.
The love of my life is next to me and even at her vunerable state, she looked perfect.
She looked like she fell of a fashion magazine or goddess painting.
Even now it's unbelievable that someone this attractive is my girlfriend.
Edith's phone ringed and the caller was Lucien.
I giggled when I saw that he was saved as Jerk on Edith's phone.
"Answer it"
I encouraged Edith with a warm smile.
The guy is gorgeous but his devil personality made him uglier than a cockroach.
Edith looked at the call and each time it rang her mood went away.
" Answer it Edith, I doubt he would call if it's not important."
(Edith answered the phone)
[Phone call between Lucien and Edith]
Edith: Make it quick!
Lucien: I'm sorry, I wish I could take back my actions.
Edith: You slept with my mate!?!!!
Lucien: No! I would never do something like that.
She said she's not interested, I didn't force anything.
Edith: so you seduced her!
Lucien: I wasn't thinking straight, I wanted to get your attention.
I haven't slept with a woman apart from you,
And I got curious, I'm sorry.
Edith: You'll be sorry when you receive divorce papers.
Lucien: Look think about the boys! You want them to live without their father?
Please don't take my kids away again, I'll do anything.
Edith: You'll see them if they want to see you.
I want out of this marriage. I was young and naive for allowing my mother to pressure me.
Lucien: I just need one chance Edith, you seriously ending our marriage on the phone?!
Edith: You tried to end my life,
if Mila didn't give me some of her energy you would of succeeded.
Lucien: How was I supposed to know that the love potion would affect you like that.
Mila inhaled it and was just fine.
Edith: Tell your parents to await those divorce papers.
I have nothing left to say to you.
Lucien: I love you.
I was a coward and didn't understand my feelings for a duo gender.
I had been gay all my life.
I don't even know what to do with a women's body.
I'm willing to try.
Edith: You can try that after our divorce you'll be a free man after.
Lucien: Edith I'll give you that land that you wanted. I was finally able to get it.
That is why I reached out but you ignored me.
After 5 years of being ignored I snapped and used a method that was most effective.
Edith: Yes it was, Infact it gave me clarity that's why I want out.
Lucien: Fine forget about me, what about Mila?
My mother will send snippers after her once the divorce papers arrive.
Edith, No home wrecker has lived to tell the tale!
Edith:....
Lucien: Edith? Hello? You still there?
Edith: You just blackmailed me ?
Lucien: No, I just don't want to see you hurt but you don't think I haven't brought up divorce with my mother?
She said it will happen over her dead body.
Edith:...
(Edith hung up)
Edith got up eruptly and threw the phone on the hard wooden wall.
Mid air she fired a laser beam through her eyes crushing it to pieces.
My body instantly put up 3 protective sheilds automatically.
Her scream took off the resort roof and destroyed two protective sheilds.
I've never seen her this broken and she screamed in pain and the walls vibrated.
My energy was being drained by the three sheilds, If I keep this up I'll start bleeding.
"Edith I'm sorry, it's all my fault.
You shouldn't of answered that call.
I'm sorry for insisting that you do.
P-please stop it, I'm running out of energy, I'm not feeling too good."
I said and things stopped flying around us and everything dropped.
I extended my sheild to Edith to make sure nothing hits her head.
Than I got up and quickly threw my arms around her.
"It's okay.
I'm here, we will get through this.
Forget about the divorce, we'll manage."
I said snuggling into Edith and kissed her cheek.
" I can't forget about it Mila, I want to marry you."
Said Edith shocking me to the core.
She....wants....to marry....me?
The thought brought butterflies to my tummy.
It returned hope and happiness inside my soul.
After all it meant that the world would know that she's loved by me.
I took a blood bag and instantly drained it.
"I'll love more than anything to be your wife.
To walk hand in hand as our rings tell our love story.
But I'm happy now. I almost lost you and I think we both need time to recover,
Especially me."
I said before gently kissing Edith's lips.
It felt like the world was in favour of our bond and protected us.
It was comforting to feel complete and understood.
Almost as if Edith knew my blueprint, she always knew how to make me feel wanted.
She had a way of expressing her love by her actions.
Going after me, finding me drove fear and helplessness out of my heart.
She has no idea how empty and lonely I felt when we were apart.
I broke the kiss looking into Edith's eyes.
"Thank you for coming after me, for finding me.
I thought I would never see you again, I wanted to get back to you.
But I was afraid Lucien would killed me if I tried."
I said snuggling my head in Edith's hair to hide the guilt I felt, for not trying to escape.
If I wasn't a coward maybe Edith wouldn't of had to use up almost all her powers to find me.
I needed to train my powers and Edith and I discussed the perfect way of getting stronger.
"A war Zone? What if I get shot by stray bullet!
Why would we need so much blood?"
I asked taken aback by Edith's idea.
We got up and left the house and sat under the tree to watch the sun rise.
"To be stronger against those who are going out of their way to separate us."
Said Edith to which I nodded in agreement.
If I can't protect Edith and fight alongside her than I'm not worthy.
I was afraid to close my eyes fearing that it would all be a dream.
That I would wake up in that mansion trapped there, with a promise of misery.
To be mentally tortured by Lucien so I kept my eyes open watching the sky.
"I love you Mila."
Said Edith pulling me into a passionate kiss as a orange and yellowish layer later took to the sky.
