บท 202: The Missing Card Part IV

Grrrrr!!

Before the three could continue their conversation, the shop’s signature bell sounded again, turning their attention to the door. The shop owner, Madame Fon, came inside with an expressionless face and her usual Starbucks cup.

“Oh, you two already came?” Madame Fon greeted her two customers who she had not seen much lately. “How’s it going, Dani? You went missing quite a bit there. Got carried away hunting cards for this guy, hm?”

“Of course, I did.”

Dani gave her a thumb up, causing Madame Fon to let out a soft laugh. She never doubted that a skilled hunter like Dani would have already gathered all the cards Joke needed. In her thoughts, she partly wanted to praise him for impeccably accomplishing his duty as a hunter, but the other part of her did not want to make him overconfident. In the end, she chose to say nothing and turned to Joke instead.

“Great to see you here. I just went out to get almost all of the rest of the cards.”
