"In whatever you do, make sure that you never come close to Dunice or my kid," Alex said, his voice low and threatening.

Charrisa from across him trembled, her eyes wide with fear. "Yes-yes, I won't come near her," she stammered, her voice barely audible.

With a snarl, Alex stormed out of the office, slamming the door behind him. The hallway was dark and silent, and he stumbled forward, nearly tripping over his own feet.

As he turned the corner, he accidentally collided with a man.

"Apologies," he quickly offered, but the man had already rushed off, leaving behind the echo of his forgiveness.

Charissa's heart pounded as she rushed to the water dispenser, her hands trembling slightly as she filled a glass.

"What's with him? He's so intimidating today," she muttered, her voice shaky as she held the cold glass to her lips, gulping down the water in desperation.
