บท 40: A little gift

Ethan looked at her with a face that was full of judgment. He asked, "So it's because of you that I never made a friend circle of my own on Earth?"

Scarlett nodded, her own face worried. Would he be mad?

Now that they had succeeded in cultivating the Dao Partner Art, She could feel Ethan without seeing him, and she could even forcefully read his mind if she wished to. He could do the same to her.

They had become a sort of duo that was, in fact, one whole. That was why she dared to come out clean in the first place. Now, she was an intrinsic part of him—he could no longer abandon her even if he wanted to. 

It was embarrassing and harrowing to come clean, but she really liked him knowing this about her. It was like a guilty pleasure. And also… a huge weight off of her back. She was not as innocent and pure as he pictured her.
