บท 227: Chapter 227: Kent Farm, Where Dreams Begin!

"What… exactly is happening?"

At that moment, hearing Barry mention that the universe was on the brink of destruction, Supergirl immediately set aside the shock of her exposed identity. She turned to Peter and Barry, her expression grave.

"Wait, this isn't the place to discuss this. Let's find somewhere quiet to talk," Barry suggested. He had been about to explain everything to Supergirl when he noticed the crowd around them. The news of the universe's impending destruction had stunned everyone nearby, leaving them wide-eyed and speechless, eager to understand the reason behind it.

Clearly, sharing such important information with the general public wasn't a good idea. Barry thought it best to move to a quieter location.

"You're right, this isn't the place for this conversation," Supergirl agreed. She turned to her colleagues, who were still staring at them in shock. They had just realized that the ordinary-looking girl next to them was, in fact, the famous Supergirl. To top it off, they had just heard that the universe might be coming to an end—a lot for anyone to process in such a short time.

"Come with me," Kara said, shifting her focus from her shocked colleagues back to Barry and Peter. Without hesitation, she led the way.

This time, she didn't bother hiding her identity. In a flash, she transformed completely. The ordinary business attire she had been wearing vanished, replaced by her iconic, sexy Supergirl costume—tight-fitting, with a miniskirt and black stockings. Her previously tied-back hair was now flowing freely in golden waves, making her look every bit the stunning blonde heroine.

"Oh, cool!" Barry exclaimed. Even though this wasn't his first time seeing Supergirl in her breathtaking outfit, he was still amazed. If he hadn't fallen in love with a certain Amazonian warrior before meeting Kara, he might have...

"You two can keep up with me, right?" Kara asked playfully as she glanced at Peter, who had flown in carrying Barry. Without waiting for a response, she shot out through the shattered window and into the sky.

"Heh, although the CW version of Supergirl is often called the disgrace of Krypton, her looks are definitely top-notch. Especially now, in this real-world universe, Kara, as a Kryptonian, is far more stunning than the actress who played her in my previous life!" Peter thought, admiring the view as Supergirl disappeared into the sky.

"Barry, let's go!" Peter snapped out of his thoughts and grabbed the still-dazed Barry, launching into the air to follow Supergirl.

"Oh my God! She's Supergirl? That's unbelievable!" It took a while for the crowd to snap out of their shock after the trio flew away, but when they did, they were full of amazement. After all, if you discovered your seemingly ordinary colleague was actually Superman, you'd have a hard time staying calm too.

"Don't forget what they said. Our universe is on the brink of destruction…" Some people were more concerned about the impending crisis than Supergirl's identity.

"This has to be fake… How could the universe suddenly be destroyed?"

"It might be true. That was Supergirl, after all. And while the other two seemed unfamiliar, they're more believable than those damned politicians!"

Soon, the entire floor was abuzz with discussion. Some doubted the universe's impending doom, while others believed in Supergirl and the crisis she spoke of.

Meanwhile, the company boss, Kara's direct superior—a mature blonde woman—stood silently, staring at the shattered window where the three had vanished.

"Enough, everyone. Get back to work," she finally said, her voice firm. "And remember, this never happened. Not a word of this leaves this room!"

She knew, though, that it was impossible to keep such a secret. Soon, the fact that Kara was Supergirl and the news of the universe's impending destruction would shock the entire world.

Sure enough, it wasn't long before headlines like "Strange Superhumans Appear in Star City, Universe on the Brink of Destruction—Truth or Hoax? Is the Government Hiding Something?" spread like wildfire.

As the news spread globally, the boss sat quietly in her private office. "Kara, this is all I can do to help you…"

Unsurprisingly, the shocking news had originated from her news department. She had done her best to minimize the impact of Supergirl's exposed identity and the attention it would attract.

...

Of course, at this moment, Kara had no idea about everything her assertive boss had done for her.

She was currently speeding through the sky, flying at a terrifying speed of several times the speed of sound.

Although this universe's Supergirl was often called the "Disgrace of Krypton," that was only because the TV show didn't have enough of a special effects budget to showcase her true power. It also had a lot to do with the poor plot development in the series. After all, many of the so-called villains could have easily been defeated and captured by Supergirl, who possessed powers comparable to Superman. But if that happened, there wouldn't be much of a story to tell, so naturally, they had to weaken her character.

But now, in reality, Supergirl was a true Kryptonian, just like Superman, who was often referred to as a god among men. While her strength might not quite match that of the now middle-aged Superman in this universe, she certainly wasn't much weaker.

So, at this moment, Supergirl's flight speed was comparable to that of a normal Superman.

"Who is this guy? How can he be so fast?" Kara wondered as she flew. She didn't head straight to their destination; instead, she zigzagged through the sky at incredible speed, as if testing the limits of Peter, who was flying alongside Barry.

Despite her increasing speed, it seemed as though she was trying to shake Peter off completely. However, no matter how fast she flew, Peter easily kept up with her, as if he wasn't even trying his hardest. And Kara knew that Peter was still carrying Barry, who couldn't fly.

"Damn, I can't even force this guy to go all out," Kara thought, realizing that even though she was flying at full speed—exceeding several times the speed of sound—she still couldn't lose the figure following her. Eventually, she gave up on testing him. Instead of accelerating further, she abruptly changed direction and headed toward another state.

"Heh, finally done testing me, huh?" Peter, flying behind her, had clearly noticed Kara's attempts to test him. But he didn't call her out on it and simply continued following her to their unknown destination.

Though the distance between the two states wasn't short, they were superhumans with incredible flight speeds. Even with Kara's detours to test Peter, it only took them a few minutes to reach Kansas. However, they didn't head for the skyscrapers of a bustling city; instead, they landed near a small, remote town called Smallville, on a farm.

...

Boom!

As three figures landed, the once quiet farm was suddenly filled with life.

"Kara, where are we?" Barry asked as he looked around. Although this was only his second experience with high-speed flight, his speedster abilities allowed him to quickly adapt to the situation.

"This is my cousin's home. Come with me, and I'll explain inside," Kara replied, her voice calm. Without hesitation, she led the way toward the house on the farm.

"Cousin? Kara, you have a cousin?" Barry asked, unaware that Kara's cousin was none other than Superman, the godlike figure of the DC Universe.

"It seems this is the place where Superman's journey began…" Peter thought to himself, feeling an inexplicable sense of familiarity with the farm. After all, in the Marvel Universe, he too owned a farm. Interestingly, his farm's barn also housed a high-tech Kryptonian spaceship.

In that moment, Peter instantly realized what this farm was: the Kent Farm, the birthplace of Superman and the origin of his legend.

On one fateful day decades ago, a spaceship crashed onto this unassuming farm, breaking the peace of not only this place but the entire Earth.

Knock, knock, knock!

As Peter marveled at the farm, they had already followed Kara to the front door. Kara gently knocked.

Soon, a kind-faced woman opened the door. The moment she saw Kara, her face lit up with joy.

"Kara! What a surprise!" the woman exclaimed, her voice filled with delight. She hugged Kara warmly before noticing Barry and Peter standing nearby.

"And who might these two be?" the woman asked, puzzled.

"Mrs. Kent, they're friends of mine," Kara responded simply, without going into detail.

"Well, come on in, all of you!" Mrs. Kent said, though she found it a bit odd. She invited them into the house without further questions.

"Kara, I suppose you're here to see Clark…" Mrs. Kent said as she ushered them inside. She was the one who had raised a child with godlike powers to become a kind-hearted human being. It didn't take her long to sense that Kara's visit wasn't just a casual drop-in.

"You're right. We're here to see Clark. I'm sure he's already on his way back," Kara admitted, her voice tinged with concern. Despite being Supergirl, she couldn't help but feel anxious when she heard their universe was on the brink of destruction.

It didn't take long for her to realize that this was no ordinary crisis and that she couldn't stop it on her own. So, she came here, seeking help from her powerful cousin, Superman, who had arrived on Earth decades before her and earned the title of a god among men.

"Yes, he should be here any moment now," Peter said calmly, causing the others to glance at him in surprise.

Clearly, despite Clark's daily struggles of working a tough job in Metropolis while fighting crime, he never took his eyes off this remote town and the humble farm. After all, his most beloved family lived here, and he would never let anything happen to them.

So, the moment Kara and the others arrived, Clark was already aware and was rushing back from Metropolis.

"This guy has incredible senses!" Kara thought. If Peter hadn't spoken up, she wouldn't have noticed the rapidly approaching figure in the distance. This made her even more curious about Peter's abilities.

Sure enough, shortly after Peter's remark, a figure descended from the sky at incredible speed. A moment later, a man who didn't quite match Henry Cavill's Superman look appeared before them.

"Kara, what's going on? Wait, there are three of you?" Clark asked, a hint of surprise in his eyes. Although he had sensed the situation before arriving and recognized Kara's familiar presence, he hadn't expected two others to be with her.

"Clark, I'm so glad you're here!" Mrs. Kent said, clearly excited to see her busy son. After hugging Clark, she added, "You all talk, I'm going to the town to buy some groceries. This time, I'll cook a delicious meal for you."

With that, Mrs. Kent made an excuse to leave the house, clearly understanding that Kara's visit to Clark had to do with something important.

"Kara, who are they?" Clark asked, his expression growing serious as Mrs. Kent left. He knew that Kara's purpose in seeking him out was not a simple one.

"Clark, this is the person I told you about—Barry Allen from another universe, also known as the Flash," Kara said, introducing Barry.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Barry Allen. Kara mentioned you before, saying you've helped her fight against evil," Clark said.

"Hello, Mr. Clark Kent. It's a pleasure to meet you too. Kara and I are friends, so of course, we help each other," Barry responded warmly. The meeting between Barry and Clark was quite harmonious, as Barry had helped Kara in the past.

However, when they turned their attention to Peter, Kara hesitated for a moment.

"And he is…?" Clark asked.

"I'm Peter Parker. I also come from another universe. But more importantly, it seems we share the same bloodline…" Peter said calmly.

"What did you say?" Peter's words left both Kara and Clark utterly shocked. They stared at him in disbelief, their faces filled with astonishment.
