บท 3: chapter 3

Chapter 3

Kael floated in a dark, endless space, his mind reeling with confusion. He remembered the smile on Arin's face, the feeling of his life force melting away. It was a memory that seared itself into his brain, refusing to be forgotten.

But where was he now? This wasn't the afterlife, was it? Was the afterlife supposed to be like this? He had expected something else, perhaps some angels according to the myth in their kingdom. Angels judging him with a big book in their hands but that wasn't the case.

He looked down at himself and realized he was naked. There was nothing around him, no walls, no floor, no ceiling. Just an endless, oppressive darkness.

And then, a box appeared in front of him.

It was a weird, glowing box with strange symbols etched into its surface. Kael stared at it, unsure what to make of it.

But as he looked closer, he realized that the symbols were changing, shifting into words that he could understand.

The message read: "You have met the requirements to redesign your life. Do you accept?"

Kael laughed, thinking it was some kind of prank. But as he looked around, he realized that he was still in the same dark, empty space.

The message didn't disappear. It just hovered there, waiting for his response.

Kael tried to sleep, thinking that it would go away. But when he woke up, the message was still there.

He tried to move his hands through it, but it didn't budge. It was as if the message was a physical entity, refusing to be ignored.

"If this is a joke then I wnat nothing to be part of it." Kael said loudly but his voice just echoed with no one replying him.

What was going on? Could this be real? He asked himself.

Kael's thoughts turned to his brother, to the smile on Arin's face as he died. A wave of rage washed over him. To think that the brother he had held unto for years never felt anything even close to brotherly love for him. Kael had always been a tool to Arin. perhaps Kael should have seen all this from the beginning but he chose to turn a blind eye.

With a fierce determination, Kael reached out and touched the box. The words "Do you accept?" pulsed with energy, and Kael felt a surge of power run through him.

"I accept," he said, his voice firm.

As soon as he spoke the words, Kael felt a heavy weight settle upon him. It was as if the very fabric of reality was shifting, rearranging itself to accommodate his new reality.

Kael's vision began to blur, and he felt himself being pulled through a vortex of colors and sounds.

He tried to cry out, but his voice was lost in the chaos.

And then, everything went black. He felt himself being pulled through a vortex of colors and sounds. He tried to cry out, but his voice was lost in the chaos.

When he finally came to, Kael was met with a pounding headache and blurry vision. He groggily opened his eyes, trying to take in his surroundings. There was a ringing in his ears. He was sure it was due to what had just happened.

As his vision cleared, Kael realized that he was on a bed in a room. The room looked familiar with sparse furniture's. A bed that creaked with every turn. And the smell of mold that was ever so persistent refusing to leave no matter how much one willed it to.

Kael was back in his childhood bedroom. He was lying on his old bed. A room so filled with memories that plagued him. Memories he would live to forget at some point in his life. Memories he had vowed to forget.

Why was he here? Why did he have to go back in time? What was happening?

Something was off. Kael looked down at his hands and saw that they were younger, smoother. He picked a shard of glass that had fallen from his window. He had never fixed it after it was broken. Kael saw his eighteen-year-old self staring back at him through the glass shard.

Kael's mind moved a mile per minute as he tried to process what was happening. Had he somehow traveled back in time? Was this some kind of second chance?

He thought back to the message, to the words "You have met the requirements to redesign your life." What did it mean? And what had he accepted?

Just then, another message popped up.

As Kael stared at his reflection in the glass shard, another message popped up, hovering in the air before him.

__Welcome, Kaelin Darkshadow, son of King Thorne and Lyra Moonwhisper. You are the last living heir of the ancient Moonwhisper bloodline.__

__You have been given a rare gift – a second chance at life. Your brother, Arin, took your life from you, but fate has seen fit to restore it.__

__You are now free to take control of your life, to forge your own destiny. The path ahead of you will be fraught with danger, but you have the power to shape your own future.__

Kael's eyes scanned the message, his mind reeling with the implications. He was still trying to process the fact that he had been given a second chance at life.

Just as he finished reading the message, the door to his bedroom creaked open. Kael's head snapped up, his eyes locking onto the figure standing in the doorway.

It was Arin, but a younger version. His eyes sparkled with mischief, and his smile was carefree. He looked unlike the Arin who had killed him.

Kael's anger boiled over, and he launched himself at his brother. His hands closed around Arin's throat, squeezing tight.

"You killed me," Kael spat, his voice low and deadly. "You took everything from me."

Arin's eyes widened in shock, and he tried to struggle free. But Kael's grip was too strong.
