The tenderness and trust that sparked in those ocean-like eyes of his in that instant stole Skyla's breath away. His privacy was something he took very very seriously and yet he didn't even hesitate when she made that request.

The faith he had in her, she would never break it.

Deep inside his heart though, a part of him was very afraid.

What if she didn't like the way he looked?

Or if pity descended in her eyes when she would see his face.

"I appreciate you trusting me," she affirmed with a beautiful smile.

Her fingers quivered in anticipation as they reached behind his ears. The heartbeat uped several notches and it knocked against her ribcage in hurried succession like a drum announcing the unveiling of something precious.

He watched her, unhurriedly, with a slight unease but a lot of faith.

She slowly removed the elastic straps from both sides, the anticipation making her tummy flutter agonisingly.
