บท 14: World War Z 3
At WHO organization.
Helicopter shot at building which was detected having many zombies.
After volley of bullet, zombies rushed out of building and chased after the helicopter.
"Back up" the pillot said.
The helicopter flew far away with many zombies following from behind.
People inside the building saw this scene didn't understand what helicopter was doing. At first, they thought they were the rescue team. After seeing it flying away, they changed their thinking.
"What does that helicopter want to do?" A person asked.
"That helicopter lures zombies out of building" A strange voice rang out.
Everyone turned to the source of voice. They saw a gray hair girl entered through window. Followed her was a team of soldier.
"You are coming here to save us, right"
"No." I answered. "I come here for some experiment. Gerry. You know what to do, right."
"Yeah. I know."
"Although most of zombie run out of the building, there are a little of them inside the building."
"Inject a fatal virus and test it. I know but what if it fails."
"Don't worry. I test it before. Zeke is very picky about host."
Zeke, a variant of Solanum virus.
"What are you talking about?"
"You will see a miracle very soon."
The team of soldier escorted Gerry to virus storage. On their way, they didn't meet any dangers.
They took sample of every virus and put it into bag while Gerry will inject the virus and go and stand before one infected to test.
After waiting for virus going through his body, Gerry decided putting his life on line for science.
Through the camera, scientists and researchers could see the stupid act coming from Gerry.
"What are you doing? Are you insane?" A person scolded at me.
"Let see who is sane here?"
A zombie approached Gerry. Unexpectedly for group of scientist, the zombie wasn't fierce when facing Gerry at all.
"You see. The infected didn't attack Gerry. My theory was correct." I said to them.
After seeing zombie didn't attack him, he held tightly the rope. He blocked the mouth of zombie with metal plate. Zombie started attacking him back but Gerry was a veteran.
He used martial art to disable it. Arms, legs were broken but it didn't stop the move of zombie.
*Bonk*
"Okay. I see enough." I hit precisely into the center neural system rendering it unable to move the body but it could move its mouth.
"I will help you this side. You are the other side." I and Gerry brought the infected to the lab.
The scientists and soldiers weren't happy about this action. Because of one scientist, this place turned into ruin.
"Don't be such a long face. I won't have a same mistake like you." I said but my promise didn't put them at ease.
"Okay. The first rumor is clear now. You know what to do. Go and create a virus that can deceive their detective system."
"But even so, it's still dangerous."
"Okay. You. Over there" I pointed at a solder who was yawning in the corner. "And you, Gerry. You will watch my whole experiment. If anything wrong, you can kill it." I pointed at the infected on table.
Although they didn't find the common voice, they still accepted it.
"Let see." I drew his blood and watched it under micro-scope. I could see the virus swimming around .
"The method of survival is too strange." I murmured.
Normally, zombie virus infected another host to survive. It destroyed the cell and multiple itself. While Zeke was only priority attacking human and spreading the virus. Other race or animal. They don't attack.
That was the reason why I found the method of survival of this virus is strange.
I poured the liquid that I have just created from the recipe into the infected blood.
Under micro-scope, I could see the viruses were being suppressed by the environment. Some were dead after entering strange environment.
"Hmm. That is very bad"
The viruses were resistant very well after 20 minutes since I poured the liquid.
"What I expect from 10% of cure."
I took out another tube. This time was my blood.
I poured it to see the effect of my blood. I wanted to see how my blood reacted after obtaining the skill [immune to zombie virus]
"T-cells work very good so far." I could see my cells attacking viruses easily.
After observing for a while, the viruses were all eliminated.
"Okay. Let go for a big test."
I made my way towards the guy who was bound on the table.
I injected the suppressed liquid to stop the growth of virus. After that, I injected my cells into his body.
"Now we wait." I could see the infected guy was struggled so hard on the table. Too bad for him that I broke all his bones. His action was fruitless.
After struggling for a while, he stopped.
His blood veins color turned to normal color. I could hear his heart beat at a normal rate for human.
His eye color turned to normal.
Overall, his parameters were normal for human.
After waiting for a while, he opened his eyes. He looked around in fear. Suddenly, he started screaming.
"Oh my god. It hurts. So fucking hurt." He screamed like a woman.
"My arm. I can't move"
"What happens" Gerry entered the room and saw me inspecting his eyes.
"Nothing is special, Gerry. I am checking his body"
I opened his mouth to take his saliva as sample.
Hearing him screaming on the table, I injected him a sleeping drug into his blood.
After 1 minute of injection, his eyes gradually closed.
"I should have done this before."
I took tissue, blood, saliva and even urine for testing.
"That is"
"Still early, Gerry. I need to observe it a little bit." I said.
After overall checking, I found his body was normal.
"Okay. Gerry. You can inform this new to everyone." I nodded at Gerry and Gerry nodded in return.
He left the room to inform the news.
After Gerry left, the bleary soldier entered to watch. His sleep was interrupted by Gerry but his sleepy eye became clear like a lake after seeing the guy who should be a zombie screaming on the table.
"First time, right. You will be familiar with this."
He was still screaming. Luckily, there was no zombie around here or else, I will silence him with cushion.
I drew his blood to test it one more time. I wanted to make sure that there was nothing wrong with him.
After a few minutes, people entered the room and saw the guy screaming on table.
The soldier saw the surprise on their face and said. "First time. I know that feelings."
Nonetheless, they could see a new hope on a gray girl named Stelle.
"What are you looking at? Is there something on my face?" I asked them.
"No. Nothing."
"Then come and help me find the way to mass-product this medicine." I showed the pink tube on my table.
"Say to president that World War Z have ended." I talked to the leader of soldier.
He nodded at me and sent this message to president's assistant.
"Let celebrate for our victory" I said out loud in celebration.
