บท 16: The Mandarin shows up
Besides a mini break, and my trips to Stark headquarters to help Pepper.
A lot of days and all of my nights, constanted of me and Tony just worked on our suits.
Tony couldn't sleep due to nightmares, and me due to, for some reason not being able to fall asleep.
After New York I suddenly couldn't fall asleep, so instead of fighting it I tinkered with Tony.
Around Christmas time me and Tony developed a way to summon parts or a whole suit to us from anywhere.
I had to slightly tweak mine to work with my mixed body but I figured it out.
I'm currently sitting in Tony's workshop waiting for him to test out his new suit.
It's been 72 hours since he's slept, I don't need it but he does and it's noticeable.
I took out my phone to record what's about to happen.
"What are you doing?"
"Recording of course."
"I'm already recording."
"I know. But if you fail I know I'll never see that footage, so I'm recording myself."
"Doesn't matter, I'm not going to fail."
He pointed at his robot that's holding the camera.
"Focus. I am pleased to announce the arrival of your bouncing,bad ass, baby brother.
Stay tight then go wide. Stamp date and time.
Mark 42 autonomous prehensile propulsion suit test. Initialize sequence."
He moved his fingers and some of the pieces on the work bench sent out a burst of energy.
"Jarvis. drip my needle."
Then dashing through the snow started to play.
His left hand and elbow went on just fine same with the right hand. But that's when it went wrong, he got cocky and sent them all. And that's when they started to hit things and land on him to fast and start to throw him around.
The whole suit but one was together and when it hit him, it flung him forward and when he landed only the helmet was on his head.
I walked up and pointed the camera at him as I helped him up.
"It's always a joy to see your brilliance."
"Quiet. Get me a ice pack."
"Just so you know I'm already on my second version of the self repulsion suit."
"Since when?"
"Last week. There was a few bugs on my mark 42 so I fixed them and built mark 43.
It's not battle ready but after a few tests I'll fully arm it.
I think mark 44 will start to include weapons inside my slime. I think I figured it out."
"You always impress me. But I do have to say, if you figured it out already why didn't you help me? We started it together."
"This is funnier. Let's go upstairs, and watch tv to take a break you need it."
We should of stayed in our workshops.
On tv.
"Some people call me a terrorist."
Some people got shot in the background.
"I consider myself a teacher. American.

I looked at Tony "You're having a lunch with Rodey today right?"
"Yeah, already on it. I'll find out what I can."
I looked at the time.
"Ok, I'll get ready, mom should be ready soon. I didn't plan on going in today but now I'll feel safer if is do."
"When did you start that?"
"Start what?"
"The mom thing?"
"Not too long ago.
Hey! She moved in and you've been dating for a while it's bound to happen, so I just moved ahead of both of you.
She didn't mind, she actually likes it."
"Just asking. Enjoy your day at the office."
"Oh I'll love it. I see why you gave the job to Pepper."
When we made it to the office Pepper had to go to a board meeting so I went ahead to her office and did some paperwork for her.
There is some contacts we just signed for some companies that want our reactors.
Happy kept doing rounds through the building asking to see everybody's badges and I kept hearing our works complain.
So when I got notified that Pepper was out I meet her in the hallway.
"Happy is driving everyone nuts including me."
"What do you want me to do?"
"Anything, I don't care. You made him the head of security. fix it."
"I'll talk to him."
"Thanks mom."
She smiled at that name, we continued to walk and met Happy near the entrance.
(Happy.)"You can agree with me on this Rimuru the robots, you guys use in your labs they could be very useful."
"You want to put those in this building?
(Pepper.) "No. I think he's suggesting that i replace the janitorial staff with them."
"You have to be kidding me."
(Happy " Hear me out. The human element of human resources is our biggest point of vulnerability. We should start to phase it out immediately."
(Pepper.) " what?!"
"You're kidding right?"
(Happy.) "Badge? Head of security coming through."
I looked at Pepper and mouthed "now."
(Pepper.) " Happy. Happy. I and thrilled that you were now the head of security. Okay? It's the perfect position for you."
(Happy.)"Thank you."
(Pepper.)"However."
(Happy.)"I do appreciate it."
(Pepper.)"… since you've taken the post.."
(Happy.)"You don't have to thank me."
(Pepper.)".. we've had a rise and staff complaints by 300%."
"And they've driven me insane."
(Happy.)"thank you. And I'll look into that."
(Pepper.)" It's not a complement."
(Happy.)"It's not.."
"Not at all buddy."
Happy.) "It is a compliment. clearly somebody's trying to hide something."
"There presents from you."
I got a look from Pepper.
I just smiled.
(Pepper.) "I….."
Secretary. "Excuse me. Your 4:00 is here."
(Happy.) " was this ran by me?"
(Pepper.) "Happy, we'll talk about this later right now I have to go deal with an annoying thing."
(Happy.) " How so?"
(Pepper.) "I used to work with him, and he asked me out all the time."
We walked in and all I see is a handsome man in front of me.
I leaned in to wisper to Pepper. "If he used to ask you out all the time, how does my dad have a chance?"
"He's changed."
"Pepper."
"Killian?"
"I'm going to go sit in a corner. Have fun."
(Everything you got on him, go.)
(Aldridge, Killian. owner of a group named AIM. And that s really the only relevant on him in the early 2000's he fell off the face of the earth.)
I looked up to see Killian showing Pepper a live feed of his brain.
(Hack it and scan him. He gave us a direct way into his head.)
(It seems what he's showing her is a fake. His scan is different then what's being shown.
But without using the mind skill I'm unable to go farther.
Something is shielding his brain.)
(What are you hiding….)
He asked to partner with Stark Indisties with his extremis project but it could be weaponized to easily so was denied.
We showed him out to the main entrance.
He hugged Pepper and Said "I'm sad I could convince you, but we move on."
Hec looked at me "Good to meet you."
He looked awkward. "Do you mind if I hug you?"
Kinda creepy. "I guess not?"
He hugged me goodbye and drove off.
(Happy.) "You two ready to leave?"
"Yeah."
(Pepper.) "Ond second I forgot some things."
When she went back inside I went to the car and when I shut the door, a sharp pain arose from the back of my neck.

(Currently in the process of figuring that out.)
