"They really used living people?"
William Cole felt a chill in his heart and his scalp tingled.
He was a doctor, had seen many dead, and had even watched people die.
But to throw living people into the sea, just for some ethereal sacrifice, William Cole knew he couldn't do it, and if he had been there, he would have stopped it!
Mrs. Cole picked up her teacup, seemingly indifferent, and took a sip, "Keep reading."
Seeing her reaction, it appeared she was not at all surprised by this.
"Child, you should know that when people are in danger, they can do anything to save their lives."
"What's more terrifying is that after throwing living people into the sea, the thick fog that had enveloped the sea for more than ten days actually lifted."
William Cole turned the page and, sure enough, he saw an illustration.
It depicted people with their hands and feet bound, being thrown into the ocean, and at the center of the fog, a path magically opened up.
