Confronted with Ruth Dawn's series of questions, William Cole shook his head. "I don't know either, I just followed the plan."
"Don't ask anything else, I don't know and won't tell."
Seeing William's determined look, Ruth didn't say anything further. She strode over, her stocking-clad feet landing on the ground, and picked up her high heel she'd kicked off earlier. The thought of the shoe being grasped by Christian Warner sent shivers down her spine.
She walked to the table, took a bottle of high-proof vodka, opened it, and poured it over her high heel.
She pulled a lighter out of her handbag and lit a fire.
The flames roared, as if incinerating something filthy.
William shook his head, then walked over to Christian Warner, looking at him coldly. "Christian Warner, will you sign Director Dawn's contract or not?"
"You're Elizabeth Carter, aren't you? I'll remember you, you…" Christian was just about to issue a threat.
"Bang!"
