"William, have you lost your memory?" Mrs. Cole rushed forward and grabbed William's arm.
"Ah, who are you? You lot are so scary! Please, get away! Get away from me!" William pulled away from Mrs. Cole's grasp, jumped out of the hospital bed, and hid behind the nurses.
"This..."
Mrs. Cole had a face filled with utter devastation. "William, I'm your mother. Don't you recognize me?"
"Whimper, you're scaring me, all of you. Please, leave. I'm scared." William looked at her with the expression of a three or four-year-old child. He looked so genuine that he didn't appear to be pretending.
"What's happening? What's wrong with him?"
Ruth Dawn could hardly believe her eyes.
The nurse released a helpless sigh, "He was badly injured. His cerebellum suffered a concussion and his memory got affected due to nerve damage, leading to amnesia."
"At this point, he's like a four or five-year-old child, even his intellect has regressed to that of a toddler."
"You're just scaring him."
