Minnie Wright brought a bowl of spicy water.
William Cole held it in his hand, stirring it gently with his fingers. He looked at the thick layer of red chili oil on top and held it before the patient, saying, "Drink it!"
"Doctor...."
The poisoned man repeatedly backed away, saying, "You... you must be joking! This is spicy water. Will I still be alive if I drink it?"
"The poison in you is special. Only by drinking this will it work."
"After you drink this bowl of chilly water, I'll treat you!" William Cole said seriously.
The six or seven men who had followed him exchanged glances. Then a man with a white safety helmet walked up and said in a deep voice, "Old Li, just drink it. If you don't drink it, your poison can't be detoxified. The doctor must have his reasons."
"Then... okay... I'll drink..." Old Li gritted his teeth, took a gulp of the spicy water. He felt as if his esophagus was being burnt, and his head was buzzing.
"I can't...It's too spicy... It's too spicy!"
