"You—" Hannah Garcia's face was a sheet of stone-cold anger.
Ada Brews hurriedly tried to mediate, "Mr. Lawson, please don't stoop to her level."
Then she glared back at Hannah, "Hannah, Mr. Lawson was just joking with you, and here you are taking him seriously. Why don't you have a few drinks with Mr. Lawson later to cheer him up? You'll surely get into Lux Entertainment tomorrow."
"Mr. Lawson, let's take our seats first so I can join you with a few drinks."
She nestled half of her body into Mr. Lawson's arms and led him towards the dining table.
Hannah's face fell. In front of Mr. Lawson, she felt powerless.
She thought that after studying abroad, she would make a splash on her return to her homeland.
Little did she expect to be hit hard right after her return, which served as a stark wake-up call.
She was nothing more than a girl from an orphanage, without any powerful background or connections.
Why should they give her any opportunities?
