บท 20: You took my first kiss, you know
"I...I just wanted to ask a favour." Eliza said, shutting her eyes tight.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Forget it, you'll only mock me." She snapped opening her eyes to face him.
"What if I don't?" He asked.
"You surely will." She persisted.
"What good will this do for me?" He asked not interested.
"It's about the acting." She said.
"Oh!" He exclaimed and gave a wicked smile.
"What does that 'oh' mean?" She asked.
"You wanna try something but fear to ask." He plainly pointed out.
"Is it that obvious?" She rolled her eyeballs like it was not her business.
"Then ask me." He gave her a go-ahead.
"No, I...I can't." She refused.
"Promise not to make fun of you but, it will be fun since I already know what it is." He gave his word.
"Then what part of it is fun?" She asked confused.
"Just say the words." He persisted
"Will...will you...will you...?" She stuttered.
"You're almost there." He urged.
"Will you rehearse the kissing scene with me?" She asked and immediately covered her mouth. She couldn't believe she actually said those words. It was so embarrassing. Her face flushed red.
"It wasn't that bad now, was it?" He grinned and moved away just a few steps. "Miss Val, you never cease to amaze me. It's almost impossible to believe that someone of your stature doesn't know how to kiss. Or are you just naturally bad at it?"
"You promised not to mock me." She reminded.
"And I'm not. I'm just pointing out a few knowing facts, if you want to learn." He said.
"None of this is helping me. You put me in this mess so you have to help me get out. I never wanted to act at all and now that I'm here, I don't want to embarrass myself in front of the camera." She explained.
He took a second to think and said,
"After we're done, you'll fill me in on the details concerning your life." He requested.
"What if I don't want to?" She asked.
"Then forget this." He turned away and she just had to accept.
"Alright, but don't think of it as me being indebted to you. It's your responsibility since..." She wasn't yet done but Felix suddenly pulled her hand and kissed her on the lips.
A stunned Eliza could only stand frozen till he let go.
"Now that's what to you call a surprise kiss." Felix confirmed.
"Wha...wha...what did you just do?" She asked still shocked by what just happened.
"What did it look like I did? I kissed you." He said calmly.
'Felix, you bastard! You took away my first kiss in a 'that' manner. Not that I wanted to be expectant of my first kiss but still, you don't deserve it.' She thought, boiling with anger.
"I'll let you know that if you want to act with me under the moonlight, you should have 'that' sense of emotion."
"Huh?" She looked confused.
"Your emotions need to flow out while acting this scene. Feel like you're being loved by someone so dear and you love that person the same way. I don't know if you have someone you love but if ever there is one, imagine me to be that one and it will all go smoothly."
Eliza was silent, but then she lowered her head.
"I...was in love once." She muttered to herself not to Felix's hearing. 'His voice sounds so sweet when he says it but I can't tell why.'
"Let's just practicalize it." He went ahead to sit on the bed. He patted the other side beaconing her to come over.
"Practicalize? I can't, it's too early." Eliza refused looking extremely red.
"Stupid girl. I meant the kissing scene. What were you thinking?" He said.
"Oh!" Eliza exclaimed. She briskly walked over and sat next to him.
"You've rehearsed the script, right?" He asked to be sure and she nodded. "Let's take it from here." He cleared his throat and began. "You're the fairest of all maidens and I am overwhelmed with your beauty." Felix quoted, suddenly transforming into a white armoured prince (It means he looks like a prince in shinning armour). "I am so honoured to have owned your heart."
Eliza did not fall short and followed after him immediately, matching his emotions.
"Oh Lord Felix, to you my whole heart has been given. If you leave and I see you no more, I will also be no more." Her eyes glimmered, full of longing.
"I shall never leave you, my darling Mary. For we will be bound together, both here on earth and in the heavens..." They closed the gap slowly. "...above." From there their lips touched gently and transformed into a warm and solemn kiss.
Eliza felt the impact from the kiss. It was a very warm and tender feeling coming from a guy like Felix. She felt secure and that all was alright, but of course, it was just for that moment.
"How did you feel?" Felix asked once they broke the kiss.
"Strange." Eliza answered. The impact was strange on both of them. "You know, you already stole my first kiss." She added.
"What?!" He exclaimed, shocked.
"I've never kissed any guy before, why do you think I came to meet you?" She asked.
'I thought she just wanted to try me out or that she was bad at it. I didn't realize this was the reason.' He thought. "You never had a boyfriend before?" He asked surprised.
"I had but I never kissed him before we broke up." She said.
"No other?" He asked further.
"None." She answered. "Besides, that was highschool. I figure it was a waste of time dating boys."
"You're unbelievable!" He exclaimed in doubt.
"Now that you know, will you still refer me as a vamp?" She asked.
"Not that I'm convinced by your story but your kissing was a bit amateur." He said .
"Like you're an expert." She rolled her eyeballs. "I did exactly what you did." She pointed out.
"Exactly!" He stated.
"Wait, meaning you..." She gasped, covering her mouth. "No way."
"Of course, it's my first kiss too." He announced.
"I don't believe you." She shook her head. "All the movies you've shot concerning kissing scenes, what were those?"
"I didn't kiss the girls, the camera made it look like I did, whereas, I didn't." He explained.
"Then why did you go ahead and kiss me?" She asked feeling a bit unclear about it all. "We could've just used the camera trick as well."
Felix was silent. He knew that fact yet when she came to him, he did not hesitate to accept her bold request.
"I…I don't know." He answered also unclear about the reason he accepted.
