The culprit was obvious in her mind. For this to happe so soon after his visit could only mean one thing: He was threatening her. For the next few days, Catherine was so immensely distraught that she didn't know what to do. And that moment of weakness was exactly when Albert struck, sending a marriage proposal in exchange for granting their family a cash stream.

The now young adult Catherine was devestated, but knew that she couldn't reject this. If she did, more of her family would be in danger. Not like her father had provided her with a choice regardless.

When she arrived, she instantly felt revolted by how smug his grin was. She decided to bear with it and be patient for as long as she could. But the more he spoke, the less she could restrain herself. In the end, she assaulted him in broad daylight.
