Chie had just returned to her bedroom when she heard Mai's bloodcurdling scream. The sound of hurried footsteps was heard along the corridor as the maid hastily ran downstairs and screamed, "HELP! HELP! AME OJOU-SAMA DISAPPEARED!"

In her arms, she carried Usako, who started squirming and screeching unhappily.

Chie closed her eyes and counted to three before she slid her bedroom door open and bellowed, "Why are you making so much noise? What happened?"

Mai's scream drew the entire household to the bottom of the staircase.

"How can this happen?" Grandpa Takigawa asked, his voice shaking from disbelief. "Did anyone come here with a baby? The person simply switched their baby with Ame!"

"Oh, no," Chie gasped dramatically. "My friend from the 'Oshima Tigers', Setsuko-san, was just here with her daughter. How can this be? I only let her off my sight for a second."
