"I refuse!" Midori cried out.

The mere thought of returning to the Koishikawa house and becoming the house slave for another six months was enough to give her advanced rash all over her body.

The counter lady gave her a look.

"Does this mean that you would like to reconsider the divorce?"

"No! Of course not!"

Midori's voice went a pitch higher from panic.

"I just don't want to go through the waiting period!"

The lady cut her a pained grimace.

"I am so sorry but that is the current procedure to obtain a legal divorce from your husband. Either you go through the waiting period or you withdraw your petition for divorce."

"But I...!"

"Midori-san."

Ryouichi took her by the elbow and gave her a forced smile.

"Can we talk over there?"

Fuming, Midori followed Ryouichi to the waiting room.

"I am not going back to your house," she snapped. "I am never going back to..."

"Sssshhh... It's fine."
