Dinner ended better than it started and when it came time to leave, a pair of shoes from Hazel's bedroom were placed for her to wear back to her room.

Hazel used a few napkins to wrap up the shoes she wore all day so she could get rid of them herself to stop anyone else from seeing the damage done.

Tobias dismissed the maid and was the one to help Hazel to put on the shoes much to his mother's dismay.

"I will retire for the night," Tobias announced.

Hazel was left dumbfounded as Tobias walked away after excusing himself. She anticipated that the goodbye would have been a little longer or he would be so bold to walk with her for as much as he could before she got closer to her room.

Hazel bid her goodbye to everyone else at the table and departed with her maids. When she returned to her room, the maids were quick to do a warm bath for her and get her undressed.
