At the thought, her hands trembled violently and she felt dizzy. Staggering backward, she fell onto the bed with a thud.

"Mrs. Johnson?!" She was pale as death, and the servants exchanged frightened glances, startled by her appearance.

"You... go call the police!" Mrs. Johnson said to them, her face drained of color. Then, as if realizing something, she shook her head, "No, don't call the police..."

The kidnapper hadn't called. Besides her own speculation, she had no idea whether Tasha Moore had really been kidnapped.

If the police were called and Tasha was harmed, what would she do? The child inside Tasha was her own grandchild!

Mrs. Johnson covered her face with her hands, overwhelmed by helplessness and uncertainty about whom to seek help from. No one in the Johnson family knew she was caring for Tasha Moore; to them, Tasha was a stranger. If she sought help from the Johnson family due to Tasha's abduction, wouldn't the existence of the child in Tasha's womb then be exposed?
