Inside the prison fence
------------------------------
"We can get into those towers and cover someone while they run for the gate." Rick said while pointing into the prison yard which was scattered in walkers.
"No." Shane said while holding his bloody combat knife and glancing at the walkers that were banging on the fences.
"What do you mean?" Glenn asked and everyone else looked confused
"Can't waste the bullets." Shane said before pointing at the walkers banging on the fence.
"Well take all of these down through the fence before making an arrow formation and heading toward the gate, melee only. Once the gate is secured well make a circle formation and kill off the rest." Shane said
"It's not safe well be just a small few in a sea of walkers." Maggie said while shaking her head.
"You call maybe a couple dozen walkers a sea of walkers? Haha!" Shane chuckled
"Look this many walkers might seem scary but trust me when I say we can take them down easy peasy." Shane said
Finally, he got everyone to agree after a few minutes of talking.
"Bang on the fences and attract as many walkers as you can before we head into the yard." Shane said before stabbing his knife into the head of a walker and yanking it back out with a squelching noise.
A few drops of blood could be seen running down his punisher vest which gave off a eerie vibe.
Looking over he saw Amy poke a hole into a walker's head with a crowbar before yanking it out and splattering some blood on her face.
Amy saw him looking and smiled at him and he nodded.
"Alright get in formation, we run for the gate." Shane said before finally everyone got in formation except for a few people who would be in the towers in case shit went wrong along with the kids who couldn't be involved yet and a pregnant Lori.
Both he and Rick would be on the edges of the Arrow formation, the most dangerous spot because of the number of walkers.
"Open it up!"
Swoosh
Rick swung the gate wide open, and they all moved at the same time with synchronized steps.
"Keep the formation tight!" Shane yelled before running into the first walker in his path.
Gripping the walker by the throat with his left hand he held it in place before jamming his knife into its temple and shoving it out of his way with flawless movement.
Eventually the walkers started converging on them all at once so Shane did his best to kill walkers as quick as possible before helping the others who might be struggling.
Hearing a scuffle, he looked back and saw T-Dogg had tripped over a walker body while stepping backwards and a few more walkers were closing in on him.
"Rick watch my spot!" Shane shouted before running over to T-Dogg and helping him up before kicking a walker in the chest and sending it flying.
"Thanks man!" T-Dogg said with a shaky voice.
Shane ran back to his spot where Rick was getting surrounded.
"Right here!" Rick held a walker by its arms and Shane stabbed the walker in the back of the head before turning around taking down another walker that had been trying to sneak up behind him.
Thankfully his senses were very good allowing him to hear even the slightest shuffle and growl of a walker.
After killing a couple dozen walkers, they were feeling the burn, and their lungs were doing their best to suck in air but finally they made it to the gate and Rick closed it up while the others held back the oncoming walkers.
"Circle formation! Clear the rest!" Shane nodded at Rick and the group formed a big circle and would step out before taking down a walker and then stepping back into formation.
Walker after Walker the group had blood all over them and their weapons were even beginning to slip from their hands because of all the blood.
Luckily, they had training beforehand, so their bodies were barely able to keep up.
"Last one." Amy said with red bloody hair before stepping out and swinging her crowbar into the walker's skull makings its brains scatter into the air.
Everyone looked around to make sure it was indeed the last one before catching their breath.
"Everyone okay?" Rick asked looking to make sure no one got bit.
"Yeah, were good." Glenn nodded while looking around
"Good job guys. We can rest here tonight, well clear a cellblock in the morning." Shane said while looking at the pile of walker bodies that had built up.
"We gotta move these walker bodies as well, we don't want to poison this dirt with walker blood." Hershel said while waving his hand.
"Good thinking." Shane nodded before waving over at Dale and the others who were in the watchtowers to come down.
Later that night they moved all the vehicles inside the prison yard to surround them in case someone tried to shoot at them from the surrounding woods.
They were all sitting around a campfire eating the food that Glenn had gathered from his supply runs at the farm.
They had food and supplies for a few good months, so they weren't stressing.
As they all sat around the warm campfire they listened as Beth and Maggie sung them a song making them all smile.
That night they all got some good sleep before morning finally came and they had to move into the prison area where walkers could be seen wandering around.
They did the same thing they had done to clear the walkers in the prison yard before making it to the inner gate and closing it off before more walkers poured out.
During the scuffle they had ran into a few walkers wearing prison gear, but they managed to take them down.
After all the walkers had been cleared, they all noticed a few signs of a breach somewhere, so they wanted to make sure the cell block was safe and secure, so they decided to move in clear the cell block before inviting the others in.
Thankfully the cell block only had a few trapped walkers within, so they cleaned the place up and invited the rest of the group inside to get settled.
