บท 42: Unbelievable
Both Renji and the hound lord staggered back, the hound's claw which was made of ice broke and injured one of its legs. The hound screamed in pain as some of the ice fragments injured its leg. Renji on the other hand couldn't feel anything on his arm, it was completely numb he was sure that he had broken some of his bones. But that didn't stop him from launching once again towards the hound.
The hound was surprised as it moved back to try and avoid Renji, it was in no mood to fight right after suffering from the injury on its leg. The hound hoped he could make some distance between them and Renji so he made a wall of fire and ice appear around him, he just wanted some time to recuperate.
"That is not going to work," said Renji as he lunged towards the wall, he was not going to let the hound recover even for a bit as he might not be able to continue the fight longer, he was already starting to feel fatigued.
-Boom boom-
The ice wall began to shake as Renji started hammering on it using his numb hand, it was rather nice not feeling any pain on the hand as he would have squealed in pain if he did while he could feel the pain he thought. With just 4 hits to the wall, Renji managed to break the wall. As soon as the wall broke from one side everything crumbled leaving the hound unprotected. All of the hair on the hound's body stood on end as it stared at Renji dumbfounded, there was no way the human could have broken by shield it must have thought.
[Renji, don't kill it try to see if it will submit to you.] said Lisa after a long time of silence, her voice seemed excited as she said those words to Renji. She thought this hound was one of a kind as it could use 2 elements simultaneously.
'Why? What am I going to do by keeping him around? I don't even know what I would need to feed him. What's the guarantee that it wouldn't attack me while I am vulnerable?' Asked Renji in confusion. He didn't know what he would need to do to take care of such a thing and on top of that he was no tamer and he didn't have any high-level taming scrolls on him to tame this kind of beast.
[Trust me if you help him grow strong, he might become very powerful in the future, from the looks of it he seems even the hound is only about 3-4 years of age, and being able to use e elements at this level is incredible. If you can subdue him and make him agree to serve you, you will have very good support to look out for your back.
And you don't need to worry about what food it will need as he will find his food himself. Just try to see if you can subdue him, it doesn't matter if you have an item or not just try to make him think you are stronger than him and convince him to follow you. It's just a thought I don't know if it will work though.] said Lisa with confidence, she believed if Renji beat him to a pulp he would be able to tame him.
"Sigh alright then, let's see if he will willingly offer me then." Siad Renji as he walked slowly toward the hound, the hound looked at Renji and this time it started feeling fear after looking a Renji's smiling face.
-BOOM BOOM-
Renji jumped up in the air and like last time plunged towards the hound with all the power he could muster. This time the hound used the other leg to block the attack, this time he didn't make a claw on its leg, this time it was a shield, and a thick one at that. Renji kept on hitting the ice shield, the shield was very sturdy as it took him about 6 punches along with the plunge to break. Renji's one hand was badly burnt and the other was about to become minced meat because he was using it to break the ice shield. Renji started to squeal in pain as he hammered the shield.
[Don't fight like that, your bones might turn into dust if you keep going on like that.] said Lisa as she could feel the pain Renji was in, but she also knew there was no other way as he had no weapons and top of that he had no offensive skills at the moment that would help him fight the hound more easily.
'It doesn't matter I'll just use some potions to heal me after I reach home' said Renji to Lisa as he didn't worry about his arm's condition at all. He knew that there were many potions made by Clara left in the cottage, so he wouldn't even worry even if he cut off his arms.
That was what he had learned from David, it was to give everything he had to survive in a life-and-death fight. That was the mentality you needed to have if you wanted to survive in this forest, not even just the forest, it would be more appropriate to say you would need this resolve if you wanted to survive this harsh world.
-WWWAAAAAGHHHH-
The hound cried in pain as the shield broke and hurt its other leg as well, after hurting the other leg, the hound could no longer support its body. The hound fell to the ground face first as it cried in the pan, both of his legs were immobilized now, and the was no way he could move.
"Become my subordinate." Said with cold eyes as he looked straight into the scared eyes of the hound. Renji thought this might be enough to subdue the hound but surprisingly it was not.
With a boom sound a small explosion occurred in front of Renji, he had to move back a little to avoid being killed.
"It's a pity, I thought this would be enough, but it seems I will have to make you half-dead first," said Renji with a smile on his face and emotionless eyes. Renji wanted to make the hound submit to him with minimum injuries, but who knew that the hound would be this unbelievably stubborn?
Without being able to move the hound lay on the floor as Renji slowly walked towards it. After Reaching the hound Renji started pounding on the hound with his fist, he didn't want to kill him with these attacks he just wanted the hound to feel pain, and this continued for a while.
In the middle of an eerie forest, in the dark constant noise of pounding and screaming could be heard that night.
"What about now? Do you want to follow me now?" asked Renji, he was tired after all of the beating, he had asked many times but the answer was the same every time. Renji knew that the hound wouldn't be able to take this on for much longer as he could feel the hound's life escaping its body.
After beating the hound to a half-dead state Renji asked one last time.
