When Anurak stopped moving, he rolled on his back and stayed there for a few seconds, waiting for any part of his body to revolt, but nothing happened.
Good…
He then heard a door open and close.
The car driver.
Anurak slowly stretched his legs, then folded his knees.
Nothing…
Feeling relieved, he then rolled on all fours. He still felt nothing.
Good.
More car doors opened and closed.
“Wow! That was some skills. I wonder if he is alright.” He heard one of the car occupants exclaim.
While Anurak was still trying to listen to his body while calming his racing heart down, a lot of familiar faces stepped out of the Humvee and stared at him. He was a few meters away from them, but none of them came over.
When Anurak was sure that he had broken and bruised nothing, he looked in their direction. On seeing them, he started cursing his luck.
Not him. It could be anybody, but why him? What the hell is he doing out this early?
