The kiss felt real, the way he nibbled on her lips and how she gasped against his mouth, it all felt real, yet it wasn't real at all.

His jaw clenched. He didn't understand what was happening. He was so sure he had been here all along. 'It was just a dream', he told himself.

But he recognized the surroundings—a small hut, too cramped, like a box. The bed was small, and he was certain it wasn't her home in Dakar.

All of this was making him go crazy. He didn't want this; he didn't want to be near her. So why? Or was Safiya in danger? Was she really away from home? The thought of it only caused his blood to boil. He couldn't think of her in danger, yet he refused to be near her.

"Are you okay?" Salam suddenly asked, causing Malik to jolt. He was suddenly aware of where he was: in the middle of a very important discussion about the forthcoming danger and the safety of the people.
