"This keeps getting more complicated," I muttered to Aunt Cari, my heart racing with fear as Leah's words sank in. How did we end up in this situation?
"How did you do that?" Lucia's voice trembled with fear as she stared at Leah, her eyes wide with disbelief. I could sense the tension thickening in the air, suffocating us with every passing moment.
"It's called expression," Leah replied with a chilling calmness that sent shivers down my spine.. It was clear she was not someone to be underestimated and very smart enough to fool us.
"It was all an illusion," Leah taunted, her voice dripping with malice. "There's no one called Anna, there's no child, and this place is old and abandoned. It's all a trap for you to get the journal, and you fell right into it."
