'Tsk. Damn scoundrel. It would have been nice if what he was assuming was what happened. But it's too far from the truth,' Matthew ignored the message and did not reply.

"Ah, I have to go to work now," Matthew scratched the back of his head. 

Loreen glanced at the wall clock, "Indeed, Sir. Thank you very much for sending me here and waiting until I wake up."

The doctor eyed Matthew with pity as Loreen treated him formally.

'Why does he keep looking at me like that? I don't need your pity. I'm perfectly fine,' Matthew wanted to say even with his chest and head aching.

"You are very much welcome," Matthew smiled. "I'll pay the bills and fetch your things from the car."

"I can pay the bills, Sir. You don't really have to trouble yourself with that," Loreen said, still refusing it.
