Janet's POV
"Are you sure that we shouldn't tell Daisy about it?" I asked Tyler for the second time as we were heading towards the garage.
We were actually heading to the pack hospital to see Leroy, but Tyler suggested that we shouldn't tell Daisy about it.
"No, no, no, Janet, she's going to freak out once she hears about it," Tyler said to me in reply.
"And what is it that the both of you are hiding from me that is going to make me freak out?" Daisy's voice sounded from behind us.
"Actually," Tyler said with a shaky look while looking at me.
"And why are you looking at me like that?" I asked Tyler before turning my gaze away.
"I swear through the moon goddess, I'm going to bring hell down in this palace if the both of you try lying to me," Daisy threatened Tyler and me angrily.
"As for you, Tyler, don't even think about it; I can clearly hear your heart beat and I can easily tell if you are lying or not," Daisy said to Tyler angrily.
"Are you going to tell her, or should I tell her?" I asked Tyler, who was still scratching his head while avoiding Daisy's gaze.
"Actually," Tyler said while scratching his head.
"Leroy was shot with a poisoned arrow, and he's actually at the hospital." I broke the news to Daisy, and immediately she widened her eyes in surprise.
"What!" Daisy exclaimed in surprise before passing out.
Elder Donald's POV
"Come on, Dad, for how long are you going to be angry with me?" Amelia asked me while sitting beside me on the couch in the sitting room, but I ignored her while fixing my gaze on the television.
"Dad, please talk to me," Amelia said to me while holding my hand, and immediately I withdrew before giving her an angry stare.
When she noticed that I wasn't ready to talk to her, she came in front of me and knelt and held my legs.
"Dad, please have mercy on me. I don't know what came over me. It was never my intention to disappoint you," she begged me with tears streaming down her cheeks.
If there was one thing that I hated the most, it was seeing her cry. Before death took her mother away, she made me promise to her that I would always protect her and make her happy and to me, allowing her to cry is just like breaking that promise.
"It's okay, Amelia; please get up," I said to her when I couldn't take her crying anymore.
"Thank you, dad," she said to me while getting up.
"You see Amelia I can't be angry at you forever, but mind you, I'm your father, and I can't be happy whenever I see you doing something bad," I said to her, but she remained silent while avoiding my gaze.
"You know how things work in our pack; an Alpha can't take a she-wolf that isn't a virgin as his mate. It's true that the Alpha rejected you, but you have ruined every chance of him taking you back, even though I succeed in getting rid of the Alpha, whom he calls his mate.
"But dad, I thought you were planning to get rid of the Alpha too." She asked me while sitting down beside me.
"Yes, I am, but how sure are we that it's going to work?" I asked her with an inquisitive look.
"Or do you want to remain without a mate forever?" I asked her once again, but she remained silent.
"You better pray that the moon goddess gives you a second chance mate; if not, I will force a mate on you or I will simply give you to the Alpha of Oz pack and you will become his mate; after all, he doesn't have a mate, and from the perspective of things, I'm not sure he's ever going to get a second chance mate," I said to her, and immediately she rolled her eyes at me.
"I would rather die than become the mate of that cruel and heartless Alpha," she scoffed angrily at me.
"Just as I said earlier, you better pray because I can't bear the shame of accommodating a mateless daughter," I said to her frankly.
"Well, if that's how you feel about me, no problem; once you get tired of me, just let me know so that I can go and find somewhere else to live," she said to me annoyingly.
"That's not how I feel about you, Amelia, but..."
"Dad, please, can we change the topic? If not, I will go back to my room," she interrupted me immediately.
"I received a message from the Alpha of Oz pack this morning," I announced to her after some minutes of silence.
"Ok, what does he want?" She asked me while feigning not to be concerned.
"He wants me to poison our Alpha," I said to her, and immediately she furrowed her brows at me.
"It's a joke, right?" She asked me with an inquisitive look, but I shook my head negatively.
"Well, good luck with that," she said to me before turning her gaze away.
"Actually, he doesn't want me to poison him to death; the poison we are talking about will only make him weak; in that way, he won't have any difficulties taking Janet or whatever you people call him when he comes," I explained to her.
"Sounds good to me, but how on earth are you going to be able to poison the Alpha when you no longer have access to the palace?" She asked me with an inquisitive look.
"Actually, I can't, and that's why I need you to do it," I said to her, and immediately she furrowed her brows at me.
"Wow, what a nice idea, but if I may ask you, how on earth am I going to do that? She asked him with a sarcastic tone.
"It's true that we both don't have access to the palace, but don't tell me that you don't have anyone in the palace who can do it for you," I said to her, and immediately she furrowed her brows at me.
