if u like stories where the mc acts rational and not based on feelings this might be for you. the story is sometimes a bit dragged and theres not many characters that matter other than mc but thats what makes it good. secondary characters are passerbyes to mc's journey to immortality.
Came here for op slice of life kind of character. Mc “golden finger” is pretty lack luster. He has no bottlenecks which is cool and he even breaks the norm by going over the maximum level. Which is a cool power. Mc proceeds to get a decent amount of life extending cultivation manuals and from then on says he’s immortal all the time in his head which annoying but whatever. Then mc breaks into qi 10 and is like oh I guess I have to break into foundation. Idk I feel like author only cares about no bottlenecks for life extending methods and side professions. Mc actual cultivation is so slow that he is constantly having to recycle his identity. He’s basically 100x slower than anyone else. He discovered a semi cheat in the mortal world of leveling easier methods and them helping his harder methods level faster but doesn’t even look for alternate cultivation methods after going to the immortal world. I guess I’m not as big a fan of the mc being nerfed after getting his golden finger.

The MC lacks personality. There is not enough second characters besides the MC. He doesn’t interact with people. So it results in a boring story with a lack of emotion. I don’t recommend
overall great novel love the slow and steady approach the mc is consistent in personality and never cucks out. Great if you like actually smart mc with a slow and steady approach. Warning the ending is the worst ever massive blue balls. It's unironically super super unsatisfying after the huge build up but great until about chapter 800.
Around chapter 80 as the "translator" starts to beg for monthly tickets the mtl becomes worse, not that it wasn't bad allready but it becomes worse, it seems the "translator" stopped trying to polish the text up a bit, now it seems like a straight copy and paste from mtl
This story is overwhelmingly dull, lacking any meaningful character development or immersive world-building. The narrative progresses in a tedious straight line, leaving the reader feeling like their time is being wasted. I cannot recommend it.
I'm giving it one because MC is very very selfish. I Did like his selfishness but ignoring a little girl of 8 years old die? that's not something I can accept
No plot. No MC personality. No side characters except for people who think MC is trash (He is). Pushover MC. Overrall you will vomit if you read.

This is my first review on this forum. I am enjoying this novel. Pretty easy read compared to other books in general, won’t compare it to James Joyce but am happy with it.
I totally love this book. A man who wants to enjoy life, drinks tea, likes alcohol, visits bordels, never falls for a woman, likes to grow stronger, not caring if others think him weak. He avoids danger, does never do anything risky and values his friends. This is incredible well written AND not like any other story I read. A new and good story. I like it!
Good novel. It’s just that the progression is too slow for me. Around 200 chaps he still at foundation establishment , does. Not practice any combat techniques and dabbles in diff fields . Annyways you can read this to pass your time.
The usual quick written cultivation troupe. Total garbage also as usual. Personality not found. One dimensional character with no development. Time skip from 15y to 47y in a mere 40 chapters. His cultivation is slow af. World building, well it has none. Dont bother reading it.
Finished the novel. Well, in the last couple dozens of chapters MC was no longer as cautious and hiding, trying not to mess with others. Zizai sect purses great freedom and arrogance, and so, he became the main manipulator behind the scenes, generating conflicts and chaos for his benefit and even deliberately sending provocations to the main antagonist in the second stage of Tianjao road. It's mostly the cheat that allowed him to do so many things, because much stronger people couldn't see through him nor detect his traces. Anyway, I enjoyed the novel, it has some truths mixed in, especially in the first half of the novel which I think the author wrote better than the later chapters with many battles and fights. The ending... when I think more it's actually meaningful that the corners of our MC "Ancestor" Liang's mouth turned up and his laughter resounded :) As I understand it the whole story is an allegory for his hospital state. At the beginning they need to stall for time and stabilize his life force, only then they can do blood transfusion, but the challenge is to still find a matching blood or be applied to some program for operation. So, in other words, at the start he is cautious, hiding, avoiding cause and effect and just trying to survive, his life can be easily shattered like a glass, because in real life he is also POWERLESS while being transported, lying unconscious in hospital bed. Later he participates in Tianjao road which is he is among many people who got the opportunity to get blood transfusion or something. And at the end of Tianjao road, the sacrophagus space, there is the blood of humans and demons mixed in, which means he is getting blood transfusion. Then he asks to be sealed there and after 10000 years he resolves the crisis of humanity and attains immortality or rather his life is no longer in danger and he wakes up, back from the dead. There are of course many other things that can be connected this way, like the collapsed lands of 9 sects or finding his protective master, or rather a hospital specialist that arrived at last to begin the operation, so the situation is no longer as uncertain, but the situation still has unpredictable factors which is told in the way of his ability of predictions that change at times, And the way MC gets stronger and uses one of the abilities to feel that someone is not so much stronger than himself means he recovers his vitality or strength. I wrote a bit chaotically, but yeah, something like this.
It’s really well done, I’m not too sure if it’s for everyone as it slowly goes through his life and shows a snapshot of completely different form of cultivating. These days where every novel has a MC that gets power-ups left right and centre and flys through every single stage for no apparent reason. This story was a complete turnaround from that. I’m sure there would be people who hate that. But this is the first novel that I actually paid money for cause I found it to be that good. Shouldn’t be missed if you love great world building, well thought out plot and characters. It being slow paced just the story’s best feature.
It was a pleasant surprise and an enjoyable read from a different perspective than usual. We follow the story and are shown that "everything passes away". Why involve yourself when all these people will someday die of old age? Why create cause and effect and get yourself in troubles, when you can be at peace doing whatever you want? Author said he wrote in this way due to his experiences in life. For me it wasn't boring, I was put in a quite unique mood, The second half of the novel loses its charm. One reason are the three abilities they get at 30,000, 60,000 and 90,000 years and the soul control technique. The second one - MC has some strength now and while cultivators don't live as long as he does, they still live in thousands of years unlike the mortals at the beginning, so it's more stale. Third reason - the author makes MC get involved himself too much, which made the story events be pushed or manipulated by MC, unlike the independent flow in the first half. There was a sudden event out of the blue in the last quarter of the novel that made MC be more free and daring, so he also no longer passively watches how events unfold but actively takes part in the events just like a protagonist does, generating more karma, even if he still plots from the shadows. So there is more action, but story development perspective is less unique. What is interesting though is that the second half of the story takes place pretty much only in one big city and beast marsh connected to it. The city even changed the owner a couple of times and the action still takes place in this city, as if MC was rooted there to the end of the days. I haven't finished it yet, I am at chapter 246 out of 287.
A really bland novel, atleast in my opinion. The novel is more like a record of dates than a novel. Wich gives it the bland feeling. However it also gives the story a unique feel.

Prepare for a slow start , basically the first 100 chapters are him being an immortal in the mortal world and we see his point of view of how time works, don’t expect great fights cause this isn’t what that is yet, literally he is cautious and low key untill he goes to the cultivation world. I greatly recommend this and it’s not a op system it just shows his skills and what not ahaha ….

its's completed in raws, its only 290 chapters.. the chapters are long though, good time pass, nothing else to speak about, an average story.. i only read till the end because it was short..
well as all xianxia the major problems are the protagonist that either have no character development or suddenly have a hidden side we as readers never knew about . But on a xianxia scale , because you can't judge Chinese novels the same way as other novels with a few exceptions like revered insanity , it still is bland , the main character is already over the age of forty and it's only 20 chapters in and he passively waits for all sorts of schemes to happen around him when has enough wealth to go to a different place and live a better life with which he can be even more of a turtle but he doesnt't, it's like a turtle living in turbulent waters because he is too lazy to move to calm waters , would still recommend veterans to read it because you probably don't expect much to begin with and can move on with the usual shenanigans of the xianxia novels but to newbies , if you want to find love for the xianxia genre with this , it's better you choose other classics . it's average on a xianxia scale because it's exactly what you would expect
It's not bad and you can say the mc is realistic, but also boring in my opinion. It's good if you want a mc who never take any risks, and only focus on his own gains.
the novel is great but the way they are releasing chapters is absolutely disgusting. They are trying to milk as much money as possible! They release a quarter of an actual chapter and call it a full chapter its ridiculous 😒
I have to say, I am astounded by this story. Never before have I seen a main character have so little personality and do nothing for so long. This story is the xianxia equivalent of watching paint dry. Not only that, but the author is clearly just making things up whenever he wants to allow his MC to continue being ‘low-key’. Like Corpse Dissolving Powder, or his attribute panel magically gaining the ability to hide his cultivation level.
The main character is smart his system isn't overpowered there are no arragont young masters poping out every other chapter overall this is a really solid cultivation novel nothing new but still an enjoyable read.
I gave this story a 3.8 which should be above average. It goes down hill. It's readable though.
