Back in his home, Raiden was lying on the ground defeated, as he lost yet another battle against Scáthach, as she approached him, she gave him her hand, helping him up, taking her hand, Raiden tried to stand up when she suddenly punched him down
"In battle, remember this: your enemies aren't always honorable." said Scáthach as she looked smugly at him from above "Don't turn this into a lesson, you just did that cause you wanted to!" said Raiden in frustration, to wish Scáthach had a smug face as she said "Perhaps... What can you do to change it?"
"Damn it! I know you're mad at me, but still" said Raiden, as he stood up himself, as he did, flowers started to dance around him as Raiden walked to sit on the nearby table to relax, from the flowers the flowery magus himself emerged as he said "My dear King! The illustrious one! The valiant hero king! Pray tell, how fares thee on this splendid day?"
Hearing the sarcastic tone in Merlin's voice, Raiden rolled his eyes, this earned him a chuckle from Raven who said "Next time, make sure to consult your closest allies about you wanting to declare you want to be a King to the entire justice League"
Hearing that, Raiden sighed as he stayed quiet, Both Merlin and Scáthach were very upset about what he did in the Justice League meeting, they both didn't like the way he went about it and the extreme manner he went about when he informed them about his aspiration
"You've cornered yourself, and that's why we're displeased. Stop sighing and confront the reality." spoke Scáthach as she sat down at the table, to which Merlin joined after her, Raiden turned to Merlin saying "Well? That's all done and gone now, I'll be sure to consult you two next time, Okay? Now! Tell me How is Ursa?" the last question was directed at Scáthach as he turned to her
Scáthach nodded saying "There's nothing unusual to report. She's adjusting to a normal human life. It's been a week, and I haven't seen her acting suspiciously. As far as I can tell, she won't be making any risky decisions until after the birth of her child. You can relax and forget about her for the next few months." Smiling at Scáthach's words, Raiden looked at Raven's belly Imagining the birth of his own child, he then turned to Merlin "As I said before, I shall take your advice with high regards, I genuinely apologize about what happened in the meeting, so please Go ahead Merlin, Let's discuss our future
Merlin smiled and nodded towards Raiden saying "The essence of kingship shines brightest when a man bears the weight of responsibility upon his shoulders. As for what lies ahead, we may face the specter of civil strife, a conflict we pray remains bloodless. Not all members of the Justice League hold you in fond regard, hence we must discern our allies from those who stand against us."
"A Civil War huh? That's convenient, isn't it? We have enemies that can come knocking on our doors any day now, and they're still unable to get off their high horses!" said Raiden, to which Scáthach said "If you had handled this properly, we wouldn't be on the brink of civil war. You've been too influenced by your servants. The world has changed, and in your era, people see kings as either figureheads or dictators, nothing in between. Respect for kings has dwindled."
Merlin nodded in approval as he added "A king's most crucial asset is inspiration. When the people rally behind you and uphold your reign, no force can wrest your throne away. The key lies in securing the backing of influential figures. In former times, it would be the politicians and nobles of the realm. However, in this era, the most potent support you can garner comes from fellow heroes. Thus, we must identify those heroes who champion your cause—not merely your kingship, but your ideals."
Hearing that Raiden said "Well, I can guarantee the support of at least two people, King Arthur from Atlantis, and Dr. Fate, Arthur is already a king himself, and he isn't too shocked by my suggestions, and from the meeting he seemed to support me, and I confirmed that with Kaldur, who also supported me as for Fate, well it's obvious, he's the only one who knows about Gaia, so he clearly knows that she has a part in this"
"Very well. Our next move is to build more support. Our initial approach will be to rally those heroes who trust you and align with your cause. Superman isn't exactly into the Idea, and Batman most likely doesn't support it either, as for Martian Manhunter…well he had issues with Royalty back in his home so I doubt I can garner his support, leaving me with Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern, I could abuse my info on the Guardians of the Galaxy, but I'm not sure if that's going too far or not" said Raiden as he thought about his plans
This made Raven speak "Do you need the support of only the founders? Won't you also gain the same advantage as the other members? The founders garner much respect, but we can also take advantage of the others" Smiling Merlin spoke "Quantity over quality, an intriguing strategy indeed. Her words ring true: the contributions of other members can be as pivotal as those of the founders. You already enjoy favor with members like Zatanna, Zatara, Rocket, and Black Canary. However, certain members will undoubtedly oppose us, such as Green Arrow, Captain Atom, and the second Green Lantern, John Stewart. We can attempt to sway the rest, but the odds are stacked against us."
Merlin then smiled saying "But where the Justice League may withhold, we shall compensate with the support of the people. The populace reveres heroes and the valor of battle above all else. Lastly, the most arduous yet crucial task: securing the approval of the President of the United States of America. She is a noble leader, yet she presides over a nation deeply entrenched in a flawed notion of freedom. The American public is notoriously resistant to change, but if we can win their unwavering support, our victory will be assured."
"I see, so we got a lot of convincing to do, Merlin, you'll be my personal Advisor, so You'll come with, the first person we visit, shall be Diana," said Raiden, as he prepared to start his plan, winning over the Justice League
