Selena’s POV

Bang!

After several failed calls, I threw the phone out, half-discouraged and half-angry.

There was a rustle at the door.

I rushed over and shouted, "Who are you! Let me out!"

The guard replied, "Madam, you'd better get some rest..."

The voice sounded young. It wasn't George outside. It must have been someone else. Maybe it was a houseboy, maybe a regular young soldier in the pack. But, in any case, they are much easier to deal with than that sinister old fox.

I forced myself to slow down. "Are you? Are you new here? You weren't here before."

The man hesitated, then answered truthfully, "Madam, you don't know me. I'm Danyll, the new soldier in the pack."

Bingo, just as I thought.

Sounds like he's not a bad guy. Maybe he's just following George's orders and keeping an eye on me. Let me see if I can persuade him to let me out.
