บท 41: We’ll meet again
A few days passed.
Although not finished with twenty batches, enough pills have been created by the alchemists.
Blanc retrieved the pills and went to the training field to deliver them to the warriors.
After a few minutes of walking, Blanc arrived at the training field.
"Helena! I have the pills here!"
"Ohh! Let me see!"
Helena sprinted towards where Blanc was and took a middle-grade pill.
"So this is created from that yeti's beast core huh?"
"Yep! These are mostly middle-grade and low-grade pills however, I tried a low-grade one and it was still very potent."
"The effects of the pill last for around two weeks. Even after you work your muscles to the ground, after eight hours of rest, the muscles will be back to their peak condition allowing the body to improve faster."
Blanc patiently explained the effects of the body strengthening pills to Helena
"That's amazing! If we have these I can probably improve the trainees' bodies up to tier 5 standard combatant physique!"
If the trainees indeed managed to train their bodies up to tier 5 standard combatant physique, they would probably destroy the attacking bandits even if they were outnumbered.
Helena and Blanc quickly distributed the pills to everyone.
Blanc instructed everyone to take one pill every two weeks.
He will be the one to deliver batches of pills every two weeks for the trainees.
"So, did everyone already consume their pills?"
Helena asked her troops
"Yes!...Captain!"
After hearing their confirmation, Helena's face contorted into a demonic smile.
"Is that so? Then that definitely means we should increase the intensity of the training regimen!"
Both the trainees and the veteran's faces twisted in horror after hearing what Helena said.
This ruthless captain of theirs will surely exhaust them to death!
However, they had no choice. They had to follow Helena's new training regimen.
Although the new training regimen was indeed very harsh and would take up at least 12-14 hours of training time per day, everyone knew that it was all for their own sake.
They knew that Helena previously lost all her comrades against Duke Samara's forces.
Everyone knows that Helena doesn't want to lose comrades anymore and that's why she is very strict when it comes to training.
After supervising for a while, Helena ordered squad leader Alex to supervise the training.
She already explained her plans to the squad leaders so this is not surprising for them anymore. They just wished that Helena would return safely.
After seeing that Alex is doing a good job as a temporary drill master, Helena pulled Blanc to the side and said.
"Blanc…I have something important to tell you."
Seeing Helena so serious, Blanc had a bad premonition about this conversation.
"W…What is it?"
"I'm planning to train alone in the Forest of Echoes."
Helena said.
"What?! Why would you do such a dangerous thing?!"
"That's precisely why I'm doing it. I feel like I'm not improving as much anymore here. I'm slowly losing the feeling of that sword intent. I have to train under harsh conditions in order to move past my current bottleneck. I hope you understand."
After hearing Helena's explanation, Blanc couldn't reply immediately.
He's having a difficult time accepting Helena's decision.
He doesn't want his woman to put herself in danger but he also knows that he couldn't be selfish.
Ever since she was young, Helena was already very passionate about being the strongest.
She often talks about being the strongest in the whole world.
Blanc knew he shouldn't take Helena's dream away from her but he's just very worried about Helena's safety.
The Forest of Echoes has many unpredictable elements and one mistake may lead to death.
After a while of struggling, Blanc finally made his decision.
"Haaaaahh…Okay, I won't stop you. However, please promise me that you will not be reckless. As long as you're alive, you can still improve."
"Yes Blanc. I promise that I will prioritize my life over anything else."
After Helena promised, Blanc took her to the restaurant.
"Wait here for a bit, there's something I want you to eat before you go off on your own to train."
Helena was puzzled.
What does eating have to do with her going to the Forest of Echoes?
Her questions were soon answered though after seeing Blanc together with a chef as they hold a variety of dishes.
"Yeti prime meat!"
"Didn't we determine that we have no way to consume the prime meat for now since it was still very potent for us to consume?"
Helena asked.
The original plan was to let the Yeti Prime meat rest in the Eternal Ice portable freezer for at least three years before they could cook it.
There is still residual energy inside the meat which can damage a human's internal organs if consumed.
"I found a way to lessen the residual energy while making sure that the efficiency of the meat is still intact."
"I told the chefs to boil the prime meat for 12 hours every day in blood ginseng extract. This is their 31st day boiling the meat so it should be edible now and it should help you with your training."
The meat was served with a special sauce and it was topped with chopped onion chives, salt, and pepper.
Helena was very eager to give the prime meat dish a try.
After the meat was served together with a rare herb cold tea, Helena immediately wolfed down the food.
"MHMMMMM!! This is delicious! Blanc! You should try this! The meat is so tender and flavorful! If you dip it in this sauce, it's just heaven!"
Blanc smiled as he watched Helena wolf down the food.
He does want to try the meat but this is not the right time to do so.
Helena needs all the boost she can get to increase her chances of surviving inside the Forest.
After a while, Helena burped in satisfaction.
"Ahhhhh…That was delicious!"
"So, do you feel anything different?"
Blanc asked.
"Hmm? Well…To be honest, no? I still feel the same except I'm very full."
"Oh…I see…Well, maybe it will take effect after a few hours or days."
Blanc said in disappointment.
He thought that his experiment failed this time and they wasted the meat.
He didn't stay sad for very long though as Helena pulled his hands and the direction they were going was…his hut?
Blanc knew where this was headed so his manhood woke up in anticipation.
A few moments after the door was locked.
"U…Untie me you villain! How dare you tie me up in this humiliating position!"
"Hahahaha powerless now are you? I thought you were strong? Captain of the Knights? Don't make me laugh!"
"K…Kuuhh…Once I escape this…"
"You're never gonna escape! Take this!"
"Aggghhh~~!!"
After trying out different themes while going at it for more than four rounds, the two were finally exhausted.
It would be a long time again before they could "bond" like this so they hugged each other to sleep while they were both half-naked.
Sadly, time quickly passes when you're with your loved one.
Morning came and Blanc was still sound asleep.
Helena quickly took a bath and prepared herself to leave.
She opened the door and looked at Blanc with a sweet smile.
"Don't worry my love, we'll meet each other again."
Helena whispered to herself as she left with only her sack bag containing a few essentials.
