บท 249: Chapter 249: Dark Flash

H'el tossed a black STAR Lab T-shirt to Barry.

"Thanks." Barry took it and put it on casually as he walked out of the surface medical room with Harrison Wells.

Caitlin turned back to busy herself with organizing the previous data of Barry's health check. For her, and for humanity, Barry's body was practically a treasure trove.

H'el turned to leave the surface medical room.

With Barry awake, it meant that his speed force was rapidly increasing with each step he took.

In the TV series, Eobard Thawne, the Reverse Flash, was dissatisfied with Barry's slow increase in speed, which led him to appear as the Reverse Flash. He stimulated the Flash and eventually exposed his true identity after an unexpected time-travel accident by the Flash, giving the Flash a chance to defeat him.

Though defeated, the situation had always been under his control.

It's just unexpected that the Flash would give up even his own mother's life to stop him, nor did he expect his ancestors to do such a foolish suicide act, which led to his existence being erased.

Now, with H'el's arrival, the Reverse Flash, who knows everything, has a different plan to counter the Flash's speed force.

Seeing H'el turning to leave the surface medical room, Cisco hurriedly caught up, patting H'el on the shoulder and inviting him to go play jungle warfare simulation on Sunday, which was basically real-life CS, against the cheerleading squad members of Central City University.

The cheerleaders with slim waists were not to be underestimated.

Last time, Cisco and his team, along with some friends from Central City University's football team and the Central City Tech District, were defeated miserably and had to treat the winners to a meal. He suspected that there was a traitor in their team, otherwise, they wouldn't have lost so badly.

Afterward, Cisco and his team from the tech district concluded that it was probably those temporary football team members and cheerleaders who colluded, exposing their hiding place, causing them, a group of research elites, to lose to these long-legged bastards.

Now, by pulling in H'el as a decoy, let H'el attract the firepower while he sniped from behind, wouldn't that cheerleading squad be defeated and flee?

"Are you really doing this to defeat them?" H'el looked at Cisco.

"Of course! I admit they are indeed a group of young, energetic, smoking beauties, but, buddy! This is war! This is a matter of dignity for us scientists from the Central City Tech District, regardless of gender! This time we must win! Win back that meal from their hands!" Cisco shouted indignantly.

At this moment, Cisco was really determined to regain his manly dignity and decisively defeat this cheerleading squad.

They lost too miserably. As a man, this was absolutely intolerable.

Of course, at this moment, Cisco was full of momentum to reclaim his pride, but when the time comes, whether he kneels under their pleated skirts, that's another story.

H'el pondered, he had been immersed in researching speed force and his own time travel abilities recently. With the assistance of Eobard Thawne, he had made quite a few achievements in studying speed force, but when it came to his own time travel abilities, he still had very little clue, only relying on the basic use of speed force to nurture his time travel abilities.

Taking this opportunity to relax and relieve his tense nerves, bullying some kids, might bring some good inspiration.

"Alright, I'll help you with this revenge battle," H'el agreed.

"YES!"

Cisco pumped his fist and patted H'el on the shoulder. "I'll inform them. You won't regret this war."

Cisco left with a suggestive smile.

H'el shrugged indifferently. Anyway, regardless of the outcome, they would all be running around like headless chickens from his plastic bullets.

After agreeing with Cisco to play the war game on Sunday, H'el headed towards the particle accelerator tunnel.

Turning a corner, he bumped into Barry, who had just finished talking with Harrison Wells.

Learning from Harrison Wells that Iris often came to visit him, Barry's heart swelled with joy, eager to see his childhood sweetheart.

"H'el, thanks." Barry tugged at the Lab T-shirt on his chest and backed away, expressing his gratitude to H'el.

His heart was already flying towards Iris. He was just about to rush to see her.

"Barry," H'el interrupted his heart's leap, looking at him meaningfully.

"?"

Barry halted his backward steps, puzzled. "What's up, H'el?"

"I just wanted to tell you. When you've hurt yourself to the point of losing everything, feeling alone, desperate, and sorrowful, when all the malice in the world makes you ache with pain... at that moment, you might as well become my subordinate, follow in my footsteps, and walk towards a new future," H'el said with a smile.

Recruiting Reverse Flash might still fail, because Reverse Flash's mind is deep and agile, cunning like a fox, and unpredictable. Reverse Flash is hard to trust and hardly worthy of trust. It's just his nature. Yet, H'el is still willing to give him a chance. Barry, on the other hand, is completely different. He is upright, sincere, bright, and kind-hearted, filled with hope. Even when he loses everything, becomes darkened, and resorts to extreme measures, Barry still possesses the ability to inspire belief in others. H'el is willing to believe in the future of the darkened Barry, willing to give hope to the future version of him. Because when that darkened Barry is sincere and kind-hearted, he can truly be bright and sincere. When he's ruthless, he's ruthlessly cold-blooded enough to kill his beloved wife. For H'el, he is naturally the best subordinate, the best candidate to replace the Flash in his universe.

"???" Barry was confused by H'el's words. What does it mean to hurt himself to the point of losing everything, feeling alone, desperate, sorrowful, and in unbearable pain? Become his subordinate???

Barry felt fine now, just wanting to go see Iris. He couldn't understand what H'el was saying.

"The future," H'el reminded. "I'm looking forward to your future."

For H'el, the current Barry is worthless, only his future self is worth it.

"I appreciate your recognition of my abilities, but I'm doing fine at the Central City Police Department, and I don't plan on changing jobs in the future. You might be disappointed," Barry shook his head and refused.

He couldn't think of any reason why he would become H'el's subordinate. Working in the evidence department of the Central City Police Department could help him find out the truth about his mother's death, prove his father's innocence. There was no better job than that.

"Who knows? The future is ever-changing," H'el turned and left.

Barry watched H'el's departing figure, suddenly feeling that this handsome man was not just good-looking, but also somewhat mysterious. In the end, he didn't come to any conclusions, just smiled wryly and with a hint of anticipation in his eyes, left the STAR Lab to go see Iris.
