บท 312: The Clash of Sabers

"Slow down, Saber! There's a hill up ahead!"

"Huh? What's the big deal? Just blast through it in one go!"

With a wild grin, Mordred slammed the car's accelerator, and the car soared over the hill, tracing a vivid arc in the air before crashing thunderously onto the ground.

If she hadn't used magical energy to enhance the car beforehand, this impact alone would have been enough to completely total the vehicle. Nevertheless, even with the enhancement, the car was now in no condition for normal driving.

*Cough!* *Cough!* *Cough!*

Kairi coughed and staggered down from the passenger seat, his legs trembling. He had thought he was a goner just now.

He silently made up his mind in his heart that he would never let this brat drive again!

However, considering the gap in their powers, he quietly adjusted his resolution—he would absolutely not ride in a car driven by this brat again!

"Ohh~ those two things are quite impressive..." Mordred said in amazement as she looked at the approaching golden ship and floating fortress in the distance. "So, the Holy Grail War is starting, huh..."

"With all this commotion..." Kairi also raised his head. "Aren't they afraid of attracting Ruler?"

"Meh, who cares? It's not our problem anyway." Mordred clenched her fists. "Right now, all I want is a good fight!"

The previous battle with Archer of Red had left her with a lot of pent-up frustration. Now, she just wanted to have a proper showdown with a powerful opponent.

"What a coincidence. It looks like your opponent has arrived, Saber."

Kairi turned his head, observing a brown-haired youth, a girl in a white dress, and a silver-haired man slowly approaching from not far away.

"Saber of Red, please leave this place. We don't want to be enemies with you." Caules urged, pushing his glasses up.

Before setting off, Vlad had informed him that Saber of Red had already defected and left the Red Faction. If possible, they should avoid conflict.

"The hell? What are you talking about? It's war, see? What's the point if we don't fight?"

Mordred retorted and smirked defiantly, a silver armor with red patterns manifested on her body, with a magical sword surrounded by crimson lightning in her hand.

A powerful magical energy fluctuation soon erupted from her body.

Frankenstein, armed with a giant round hammer, immediately stood in front of Caules but was still forced to take two steps back by the overwhelming magical energy from Mordred.

"Just leave this to me." Siegfried removed a longsword from his back and approached Mordred. "You two go elsewhere."

"Understood. Please take care, Saber!" Caules nodded.

From the recent situation, it was evident that Frankenstein was not a match for Saber of Red. Staying here wouldn't serve any purpose, and they might even distract Saber of Black.

Mordred showed no reaction to the departure of Berserker of Black and her Master. She had come here to fight, not to bully the weak. Moreover, letting go of the two of them wouldn't hurt since it might cause some trouble for the priest and his people.

"Hey, so you're Saber of Black, huh?" Mordred eyed Siegfried, a fervent fighting spirit burning in her eyes. "You seem like a decent opponent. Make this fight a bit more fun, will ya?"

Siegfried did not answer and simply observed Mordred silently, not because Gordes forbade him to speak, but because it was simply his nature. Communication for him only required the sword in his hand.

"Hey, at least throw in a couple of lines, will ya? Are you mute or something?" Mordred grumbled.

'How should I respond? Well, maybe not responding is better...' Siegfried thought for a while and decided to continue with his irritating silence.

However, the single-minded Mordred clearly couldn't grasp the meaning behind it. To her, Siegfried's silence seemed like a clear expression of disdain, instantly triggering her frustration.

"Watch me knock your teeth out all over the floor, you damn mute!"

After exclaiming that, red lightning instantly converged beneath Mordred's feet, colossal magical energy propelling her body like a projectile toward Siegfried.

Kairi quickly distanced himself; with his human body, staying on the battlefield of two Sabers would be suicidal.

Seeing this, Siegfried's eyes gleamed.

Instead of stepping back, he took a step forward.

His sword, Balmung, once used to slay dragons, clashed with Mordred's magical sword, Clarent, which had ended Arthur's reign. A violent magical energy swept through, whipping up a storm and leaving deep furrows in the ground.

*BOOOM!*

Intense sparks illuminated the scene, the harsh clash echoing through the sky.

"HAAAHHH—!!!"

Mordred roared, red lightning dancing on her arms, and the power infused into Clarent quickly skyrocketing.

*BOOM—!*

She sent Siegfried flying, leaving two deep furrows behind.

As the dust settled, his figure reappeared unscathed.

"Not bad, Saber of Black..." Mordred casually slung her sword over her shoulder. "Sure enough, fighting you is more interesting than I thought."

"You're strong..." Siegfried said earnestly.

"Man, come on! You can talk after all." Mordred grinned.

"Sorry, I'm not great at communication."

"Well, that's pretty boring, but it doesn't matter anyway..."

Mordred's eyes, a vibrant emerald, burned with an unyielding fighting spirit.

"As long as there's a sword and blood, it's enough!"

As the battle between Siegfried and Mordred unfolded, the confrontation between the Red Faction and the Black Faction finally unveiled on the vast grassy plains.

Countless menacing skeleton monsters, known as dragon tooth warriors, brandished bone swords as they charged forward, while stout and imposing golems stood on the ground like walls, blocking their path.

At the moment of contact, a myriad of white bones flew through the air, and the forces on both sides rapidly dwindled, resembling a meat grinder in action. Though devoid of blood and roars, the intensity of the scene rivaled any war in human history.

Evidently, neither the Red Faction nor the Black Faction had any intention of holding back; this war had entered a state of white-hot intensity from the very beginning.

Vlad calmly surveyed the battlefield, guiding his horse-like puppet forward. With a low hum, the ground beneath him trembled as if a dormant giant beast was slowly awakening.

The dragon tooth warriors soon charged toward him, sensing the immense and weighty power emanating from the man. However, they were devoid of the concept of 'fear' as annihilating the enemy in front of them was their sole purpose of existence.

"Ants who dare to tread upon my territory, are you ready to pay the price for your insolence?" Vlad raised his palm and clenched it lightly.

*Thud!* *Thud!* *Thud!* *Thud!* *Thud!*

Countless black iron stakes, reflecting a metallic sheen, erupted from the ground like roaring angry dragons.

In an instant, they pierced through all the dragon tooth warriors, rendering these monsters, which could easily kill an ordinary adult, as fragile as sheets of paper punctured at the slightest touch.

"Let your bodies become my banners, and experience the fear I bring."

Vlad didn't even bother to glance at them, directing his gaze instead to the two massive objects in the sky, raising the black spear in his hand.
