Things were basically as Ying Ye said.
Sudou Ken no longer cared about the class, and now he had to go about his club affairs.
This, in turn, made it so that some students became even more unwilling to pay attention to this class, especially those who had good academic ability but who had personality problems.
They would most certainly have thought of more ways to earn points other than relying on class points, and there were more and more such individuals in the class as a result of Ying Ye's advice.
In the case of Ying Ye Zhenshi, he would fade into the background and become one of the crowd.
There was no real group mentality, so where could a group come and attack him from?
Moreover, he also had Kushida Kikyo and Karuizawa Kei by his side.
'Indeed, who is the real 'group' here? Who is the real big powerhouse?'
Maybe in the future, he would allow some other students to experience what it meant for one to focus on the overall situation over being targeted themselves.
"Thank you."
Thanks came from the female student sitting behind him.
Then, she thought carefully about what club she wanted to join.
Listening to these conversations going on, Hirata opened his mouth to say something.
But it seemed that what he wanted to say couldn't just be said, as what the boy had said was indeed the truth and the way to accrue points via clubs was a truth.
And because of the example of Sudou, it was hard for people not to think so.
But it was still difficult for him to accept such words that implied one should disregard the class.
He decided to put an end to the tangent they'd gone on.
"Sudou's affairs can be dealt with later.
Don't worry about it. Thank you for your suggestion Ying Ye-kun, I will go and ask around a few clubs later, to find out if any senpais need some help from students who aren't in any clubs. If you need any references to join or some opportunities, you guys can ask me for some later. I will try my best to help you get points, and I will try to convince Sudou-san as well. This will be the same treatment if any one of us has an opinion on this matter. If you don't want to say your thoughts in person, we can communicate in other ways too. And while clubs might help with acquiring private points, I think increasing our class points should be the most important priority right now. The school must also have many considerations in linking our monthly allowance to the class points, which might become even more relevant in the future. And as far as freshmen students like us are concerned, it is impossible to gain a very important position in any club to attain a lot of points anytime soon."
He also gently refuted what Ying Ye Zhenshi had said.
Although it might have been a bit offensive to him to refute his suggestions, Hirata really didn't want everyone in the class to act alone and not bother about the class at all.
Hirata spoke like a mother hen, as though he wished to take care of all of his fellow classmates, while still motivating them to do well.
And this was especially effective for those girls with ulterior motives who had long been attracted to Hirata.
"It's all that Sudou-kun's fault. His troubles have nothing to do with you, Hirata-san."
"That's right! Obviously, he is the one that was late the most as well!"
"I feel really cranky when I think back to that guy's attitude."
"It would be great if there was no one like him in the class. Hirata-san, you would be much more relaxed. Even without Sudou-kun, can't we still get some points?"
"Yea… he's the worst. Why is he in the same class as us…?"
The girls talked one after another, but the girls who spoke last made Hirata-san's expressions change.
But in this situation, he knew that no one was to blame for her opinion.
"Let's not talk about that anymore. We should all treat each other as classmates. Sudou-kun is a classmate of ours too. Everyone will be different and will have different ideas or ways to go about things. Since we can't reach an understanding on this for now, let's move on to the next topic. In addition to the plans to increase our class points and work out ways to protect our future points, I plan to hold a study meet where everyone can benefit from each other and improve their academic performance. Sensei also said before that if any one of us fails the next exam, there is a risk of being expelled. I hope to graduate with everyone though. So I hope to learn from and to teach everyone to a competent level..."
He was clearly trying to help the rest of them, and yet he spoke as if he was begging for help.
Ying Ye felt that his name should not have been Hirata Yosuke, but rather Mama Hirata.
Regarding the study meeting, most of the students agreed pretty easily.
After all, the dropout crisis didn't seem like a joke.
If they didn't study hard and ended up failing the exam, it would mean that they would have to drop out of school in an instant.
"What a mother-like personality."
Regarding the flaws of Hirata Yosuke, Ying Ye Zhenshi fiddled with his mobile phone and replied to some other people's messages, as he had already understood what was up with him.
At this point, he was basically certain that Hirata was a person with the same flaws as Kushida Kikyo.
If things continued as they did, his flaws would be exposed sooner or later.
Having noticed this fact made him admire the school a little bit.
'To have such a group of problem children gathered here is most certainly a feat on the school's part.'
He scanned the other students in the class, thinking about whether there were other problem children who had not yet revealed themselves.
In the end, the session boiled down to the matters presented by Hirata with some preliminary plans for revision thrown in the mix.
Ying Ye Zhenshi walked out of the classroom, choosing to leave instead of joining them to discuss the finer details.
There was no need to worry about participating since his academic ability was perfectly fine.
Hirata originally wanted to speak to him about something, but he was surrounded by a group of girls, so he didn't get the opportunity and had to postpone the meeting a little.
But there was someone who followed him unabashedly in the direction he was heading.
It was not until they had left the teaching building that the individual caught up with him.
"Hello Ying Ye Zhenshi..."
With the cold female voice came Horikita Suzune, who approached him from behind.
Ying Ye Zhenshi turned around and noticed the student council president's sister had been tailing him.
"Oh, if I remember correctly you are a classmate of mine. Horikita, right? I really didn't expect you to come looking for me."
With a dazzling smile on his face, even Horikita Suzune couldn't stand it.
Thinking about her first contact with the boy in question, she recalled that he really hadn't cared about his behaviour back then at all.
"Your personality is still so annoying.
Horikita Suzune also thought of how she had been dealt with quite perfunctorily by the boy previously.
"Well, if we take everything into account, you don't think your personality is much better, now do you? And, I didn't beg you to come over to chat with me. If you aren't choosing to actively mess with others, you shouldn't act like they're are a bother, don't you think so? Horikita-san."
Ying Ye Zhenshi didn't give her any face at all.
