Feng Xuan pretended to be offended, "I was just curious! Besides, aren't we all here to find out our next opponents?"
As they bantered, the grand entrance doors swung open to reveal representatives of the two great families: Master Xian Ouyang and Miss Seraphina John. Their presence added a layer of gravitas to the already charged atmosphere.
The draw was about to commence. The hall silenced in collective anticipation. With a ceremonial flourish, the host began drawing lots. Feng Xuan, still processing his own draw, turned to Li Yang with mock exasperation. "Well, isn't someone incredibly lucky today?"
Li Yang grinned, "I guess the stars are aligned in my favor. But don't worry, I'll be cheering for you from the sidelines."
