Shikera chuckled nervously; this woman better be joking.
"You must be mistaken, Grandma Cooper. I have no idea what it's like to fish or do anything related to it," she stated, waving her hand in front of her face.
"Then what do you want to do?" Grandma Cooper asked.
"I can give you money instead! We will eventually sell the fish we catch for money, right? Just take it as me giving you the money for the fish I sold," Shikera replied.
"And of what use would the money be? We practice trade by barter on this island and as long as I can't give the sea money to vomit the fishes, we have to fish. You, me, and Leah!" Her tone was final, giving Shikera no chance to refute her decision.
Apart from Grandma Cooper's firm tone which convinced Shikera from arguing with her, the mention of Leah also got her distracted.
