บท 60: Early Morning Disappearance and Late-Night Confessions

Since that day outside his father's house, he has been quiet. It seemed odd that the burial would take place the following day. He gave off the impression of being serious and reserved, but I knew the façade would fall just as quickly as it had been built. I complied with his request that everybody back off and leave him alone.

   I was hesitant to approach him, yet something compelled me to do so. In addition, I had created the gap. Dane was not good. Despite being a kind guy, the friendship fell flat. If Dane and I hadn't met that day at the gala, would Smith and I have encountered any of these issues?

   My mind returned to the time he attempted to kiss me. My spouse would have lost it if I had informed him about it. He'd murder him. Was it me who made things difficult since I was the newcomer? Perhaps I needed to leave the family.
