Lyra Smith went outside to invite Mikel Anderson in.

She affectionately held Mikel's hand, asking her about everything from her mother in the nursing home to her work and day-to-day life. Mikel told Lyra all about her current state of affairs, except for the matter with Gregory Smith.

After that, Lyra began to make indirect inquiries: "I heard mom mentioned she introduced you to a young man."

Mikel pursed her lips: "Mhm."

Lyra continued to ask: "Any follow-up?"

"No follow-up." Mikel shook her head.

There had almost been a follow-up, but Mikel hadn't expected Gregory to ruin her blind date that day.

Lyra felt a little disappointed: "What went wrong?"

Mikel couldn't tell the truth, so she made up a random excuse: "We had different values."
