บท 345: Accidental Encounter

After Absol easily dealt with a Seviper that attacked them, Yuga suddenly heard a human voice crying out for help.

Who would be foolish enough to shout loudly in a forest like this? Did they have a death wish?

However, it sounded like the voice of a young girl in distress.

In the end, Yuga couldn't resist and, with Absol, headed towards the source of the voice.

Not far ahead, Yuga saw a Blaziken sprinting towards them with a young girl on its back. Behind them, a pack of Mightyena relentlessly chased them.

Upon spotting Yuga, the Blaziken expressed relief and started pleading for help.

Yuga gestured to Absol, and it leaped into action. Absol stomped its front feet on the ground, causing blue stone walls to rise and block the path of the pursuing Mightyena.

This was a new move Absol and the Great Flygon had recently learned, called Stone Edge.

After assessing the Mightyena's levels, Yuga didn't hesitate to release the Great Flygon and commanded, "the Great Flygon, use Rock Slide!"

Countless large rocks materialized in the air and rained down on the Mightyena.

No wonder the Blaziken, despite its considerable strength, had been fleeing desperately. Not to mention the leader of this pack of Mightyena, which Absol found challenging to deal with, it had a group of subordinates under it command.

...

<<Mightyena>>

Type: Dark

Ability: Intimidate

Gender: Female

Potential: Green

Level: 55

Moves: Snarl, Crunch, Tackle, Bite, Sand Rush, Odor Sleuth, Embargo, Swagger, Scary Face.

...

This Mightyena leader was the strongest Pokémon Yuga had encountered since entering the Violet Glow Forest.

Most of the Mightyena were knocked down by the Great Flygon's Rock Slide. However, the Mightyena leader agilely evaded the attack.

Seeing her subordinates injured and lying on the ground, the Mightyena leader glared at the Great Flygon, which was flying in the air, and immediately leaped towards it, using the move Crunch.

But the Great Flygon welcomed the leaping Mightyena leader with a Dragon Tail. The Mightyena leader was struck and rendered incapable of further combat before she could react.

This was the crushing difference in power!

The gap between ordinary Pokémon and pseudo-Elite Pokémon was immense, even though this Mightyena was over fifties level.

Pokémon like Mightyena were naturally very united. They weren't frightened when their leader being swiftly defeated. Instead, they snarled aggressively at the Great Flygon.

However, most of them had been injured by the Great Flygon's Rock Slide and were easily dealt with by Absol nearby.

Yuga didn't pay much attention to the other Mightyena; he merely threw a Poké Ball and captured the Mightyena leader.

Among these Mightyena, she was the one with visible potential.

At this moment, the girl carried by the Blaziken finally realized she was safe. After dismounting from Blaziken's back, she suddenly burst into tears.

Yuga, seeing this, quickly covered her mouth and sternly said, "Do you want the Mightyena to chase us again?"

The girl was immediately frightened and held back her tears, looking at Yuga with fear.

It was only then that Yuga noticed that the Blaziken had sustained severe injuries. There were scratches and bite marks on its thighs and back.

Yuga recalled the Great Flygon into its Poké Ball and released Florges. He commanded, "Florges, use Grassy Terrain!"

Florges examined Blaziken's wounds and nodded in agreement with Yuga. She created a super-small Grassy Terrain that perfectly covered Blaziken.

Yuga then retrieved some medicine from his backpack and gently sprayed it onto Blaziken's injuries.

Perhaps relieved to have been rescued, Blaziken finally lost consciousness.

Because Yuga hadn't brought Chimecho along this time, he had prepared a good supply of medicine. After all, Florges's Grassy Terrain wasn't as effective for healing as Chimecho's Heal Pulse.

"Big brother, is Blaziken going to be okay?" asked the young girl who had been carried by Blaziken, her eyes filled with tears.

After treating Blaziken's injuries, Yuga turned to the girl, who appeared to be around ten years old, and asked, "What's your name?"

Probably still frightened by the recent events, the girl avoided Yuga's gaze and stammered, "I-I'm... A-Adrielle."

"How did you end up here? This isn't a place you should be!" Yuga inquired, noting the girl's attire and the impressive Blaziken by her side. It was clear she came from a well-off family.

Upon hearing Yuga's question, Adrielle wiped her tears away and nervously explained her journey into the Violet Glow Forest.

Adrielle had recently become a Pokémon Trainer after receiving her starter Pokémon. The Blaziken accompanying her was specially assigned by her family for her protection.

Unlike most children from ordinary families, Adrielle hadn't embarked on a journey after graduating from the basic Pokémon Trainer school. Instead, her family arranged for her to attend an intermediate Pokémon Trainer school, intending for her to follow an academic path.

However, Adrielle made a bet with her schoolmates, challenging each other to capture stronger Pokémon without relying on their families' assistance. That's how she ended up in the outskirts of Mauville City and, eventually, got lost within the Violet Glow Forest.

She entered the forest to chase after a wild Spoink, but soon lost her way, wandering into the central area of the forest.

If it weren't for the Blaziken by her side, she feared she might have become a meal for the Mightyena pack.

As Yuga listened to Adrielle's story and observed her tearful demeanor, he couldn't help but sigh. Why were there so many reckless kids in the world?

Why couldn't she just stay in school and mind her own business? Why get into a risky bet with others?

Did she not appreciate the privilege of having high-potential Pokémon provided by her family? Why did she insist on venturing out to capture Pokémon with uncertain potential?

The areas around towns are all graded, making it convenient for rookie trainers to travel. Even in each town's Pokémon Center, you can get a map of the wild areas for free. It clearly indicates where you can go and where you shouldn't. Why risk it?

High-level wild areas like the Violet Glow Forest are usually explored by experienced trainers.

While Adrielle was still wiping her tears, her stomach suddenly betrayed her with a loud growl, causing her to blush in embarrassment.

Blushing and clutching her stomach, Adrielle secretly glanced at Yuga, who was staring at her, feeling even more self-conscious.
